URGENT: VASCO GOES TO COURT OVER MARACANÃ! Vasco da Gama filed a lawsuit on Thursday (1st) for an obligation to act with a request for urgent protection against FLA-FLU Serviços S.A., the concessionaire of Maracanã. The objective is to guarantee the match Vasco x Boca Juniors, for the CONMEBOL Sudamericana semifinal, at Maracanã, on October 20, at 9:30 PM. The urgency is huge: Vasco needs to inform CONMEBOL by October 5 which stadium will host the match. In the action, the club argues that São Januário does not meet the minimum capacity requirement established for the semifinals of the competition and emphasizes the structure of Maracanã to host a confrontation of this magnitude. The petition also cites a statement from the Military Police in favor of holding the game at the stadium. Vasco also claims to have a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2025 that provided for the use of Maracanã in matches of CBF, FIFA, or CONMEBOL competitions, in addition to establishing that any refusal should be based on technical and operational criteria. The preliminary request is clear: for the court to order the availability of Maracanã for Vasco x Boca Juniors, including the necessary conditions for the execution and organization of the match. The club also requests a daily fine of R$ 1 million in case of non-compliance with the possible court order and urgently requires the concessionaire to be notified so that the stadium can be confirmed with CONMEBOL within the deadline. URGENT: Renan Santos announces that he will APPEAL the decisions of the TSE and STF that blocked his attempt to participate in the Globo debate. After Nunes Marques denied the injunction at the TSE and Cármen Lúcia rejected the ADPF in the Supreme Court due to procedural issues, Renan states that he will continue the legal battle to try to participate in the last presidential debate before the first round. URGENT: Cármen Lúcia REJECTS the request from Missão to ensure Renan Santos in the presidential debate on Globo. The minister of the STF decided not to consider the ADPF presented by the party, stating that the action used an "inappropriate procedural route" and did not meet the requirement of subsidiarity. Missão had requested a preliminary injunction to force Globo to include Renan in the debate this Thursday (1st), at 9:30 PM. Cármen Lúcia, however, did not judge the merits of Renan's exclusion: the decision blocks the action for procedural issues. As a result, the party suffers a new judicial defeat after Nunes Marques also denied, in the TSE, the injunction that sought to guarantee the candidate's participation. (translated)

This is very serious: US$ 1 MILLION AGAINST THE STF Revealed campaign from the Trump government. The government of Donald Trump allocated US$ 1 million to finance a campaign against the STF in Brazil. The revelations were published this Thursday by the British newspaper The Guardian, which points out how resources originally intended by the US for the global human rights agenda were redirected to the interests of the American far right. According to the report, a US$ 1 million grant titled "Combating Lawfare and Censorship in Brazil" would finance civil society groups that oppose what is described as excessive judicial action and censorship by the Supreme Court of Brazil. "The Trump administration imposed sanctions on Brazilian minister Alexandre de Moraes last year, following pressure from Eduardo Bolsonaro, the son of the former president," the article recalled. According to the newspaper, a Democratic congressional aide stated that a senator from the Foreign Relations Committee, Jeanne Shaheen, had maintained the blockage of ten disbursements totaling US$ 22 million, intended for projects in Brazil, South Africa, and Nigeria, as well as for promoting a right-wing ideology in the UK and Europe. This week, Shaheen sent a letter to the Trump administration to denounce interference in the Brazilian election and demand the White House recognize the election results in the country. "Throughout President Trump's second term, we observed US authorities engaged in a campaign of interference and destabilization in Brazil," the senator said in the document. "This effort intensified dramatically during the summer of 2025, when the Administration imposed targeted tariffs and sanctions in an attempt to influence the verdict of the Brazilian Supreme Court in the trial of former president Jair Bolsonaro, accused of attempting to foment a military coup to remain in power," she stated. According to the aide consulted by the newspaper, Secretary of State Marco Rubio had personally signed a memorandum to ignore the senator's blockages and authorize the allocation of funds. Destabilizing the STF For observers and diplomats, destabilizing the STF has become a priority for the Brazilian and foreign far right. The movement sees the institution as a brake on implementing an ultra-conservative project in the country and regaining freedom of action on all fronts. The money comes from the Fund for Human Rights and Democracy, created to finance Trump's conservative agenda around the world and, according to its critics, to attack any form of opposition. "The largest disbursement, totaling US$ 40 million, was allocated to a consortium led by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) — a non-profit anti-communist organization that, in the past, had received much lower amounts in grants," the report indicated. A background check document from the Department of State, consulted by The Guardian, records previous contracts between the foundation and the agency totaling US$ 96,997 in the last five years — all in the fiscal year 2022 — and notes that the organization underwent a check in 2019 related to tickets for the foundation's gala event. The document also identifies Andrew Bremberg — former domestic policy advisor to the White House during the Trump administration and former US ambassador to the UN office in Europe — as a "senior leader" of the foundation. 🚨 Exclusive: Marcelo Portugal Gouvêa, candidate for the presidency of São Paulo on behalf of the Opposition, declares that he voted in favor of the contract with Ticketmaster, which was approved by the Council. "After weeks of analysis and discussion, I voted for the approval of the contract with Ticketmaster. I believe that the process of selecting the new ticket company had flaws in its handling. Nevertheless, given the club's financial situation, I understand that approving the contract is the most prudent decision to protect São Paulo and reduce risks, especially in football. Rejecting it now would bring more uncertainty to a club that needs stability. I also voted for the two reservations: the reduction of the termination penalty and the exclusion of the Supporter Member program from the contract. We cannot move forward without being clear that this inclusion does not conflict with the current contract of the program, which could lead to legal disputes and significant financial losses. São Paulo must respect the contracts it signs. Finally, we guided the counselors of the Salve o Tricolor Paulista group to vote in a technical manner, not politically, allowing each one to decide according to their own convictions. This is how we believe the club should be conducted." (translated)

⚠️ SCENARIO ON THE MANDATE FOR THE SUL-AMERICANA SEMIFINAL AGAINST BOCA JUNIORS: - The club is trying to reach an agreement with Boca Juniors and Conmebol to play at São Januário. Vasco is working on all possibilities to ensure the match takes place at the Historic Hill. - This depends on Conmebol's approval regarding the rule of capacity above 30,000 (a "controllable" problem), but mainly on Boca's acceptance regarding visitors. The rule states 4,000 tickets. There is an attempt to reduce this number, with Vasco having the same amount at La Bombonera, but there is still no agreement. AND MARACANÃ? - The first attempt was Maracanã. Vasco exhausted all friendly possibilities to play there. With another "no" from the consortium, the next possibility is only in 2026 (Vitória and Palmeiras in the Copa do Brasil), the club is already working on the possibility of taking it to court. This is on the board's table and can be activated at any moment, based on the notice. - Playing at Maracanã is not a problem for the group of players. They also feel at home there. But in order of preference, São Januário is number 1 for the squad. - One attempt does not negate the other. Vasco does not want to be hostage to just one possibility. With the "no" from the consortium, São Januário is a priority. However, the possibility of legal action regarding Maracanã occurs in parallel. The third option is Nilton Santos Stadium, both for the board and for the athletes' preference. #CanaldoPedrosa (translated)

The thing with the Land Law is this: In December 2023, the Government signed DNU 70/23, which, among many other things, repealed the Land Law. Like many of the chapters of that DNU, the article repealing the Land Law was judicialized: The Center of Ex-Combatants of La Plata filed an amparo claiming it was unconstitutional. In January 2024, federal judge Ernesto Krepak issued a precautionary measure suspending that article until the issue of constitutionality was resolved. Then, the Federal Court of La Plata declared the article unconstitutional and told the Government that if they wanted to repeal the Land Law, they would have to go through Congress. They could not do it by DNU. The Government then presented to Congress the Law of Inviolability of Private Property with a chapter to repeal the most restrictive points of the Land Law. What happened is what we all know: mass mobilization in the streets, expressions from popular artists and football players, the Malvinas flag at the World Cup, and all the pressure that caused the ruling party to lose votes and have to withdraw the chapter. Now what the Supreme Court of Justice (made up of 3 people) has done is overturn the ruling of the Federal Court of La Plata and restore the validity of the chapter of DNU 70/23 that repealed the Land Law. They were careful not to comment on the substantive issue because they have been procrastinating on resolving the constitutionality of the entire DNU for almost three years. The rationale is that the Center of Ex-Combatants of La Plata does not have procedural standing to file an amparo against the decree. They let time pass to let the dust settle and achieved, with a requested ruling, what they could not do democratically, which is to sell Argentine lands to foreigners. (translated)
