The criminal prosecution of former director of the Czech Railways Jiří Svoboda and other individuals stems from the controversial sale of a claim against the bankrupt company Eko-Unibau, where Svoboda sold the claim for 11 million crowns to the developer Samohýl Holding, which thereby gained an advantage in a real estate project, under suspicious circumstances, leading to a police investigation and the seizure of 80 million crowns.
