Jakub Balcerzak wrote that Ran Takahashi was set to debut in the TAURON League as a member of Bogdanka LUK Lublin. He described the 25-year-old Japanese player as someone who combined recognition among fans and collaboration with major brands with the ambition for further sports development. According to the author, the transfer to Lublin was not merely a marketing move: the club had tried to acquire the player earlier, and this year’s discussions were the third attempt. Balcerzak stated that Takahashi only now believed he was ready to play in Poland, and the prospect of playing alongside Wilfredo Leon was an important argument for him. According to Balcerzak, Takahashi started as a libero, and he became interested in volleyball thanks to his older brother Rui. He gained wider attention as an outside hitter when, in his last year of school, he led Higashiyama to the Japanese high school championship, after which he began studying at Nippon Sport Science University. Philippe Blain called him up for VNL 2021, despite his limited experience in senior volleyball, and he subsequently made it to the squad for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In his national team debut, he achieved, according to data cited by the author, 50% attacking efficiency, 35% attack effectiveness, and 80% positive reception. Balcerzak wrote that after the 2021 national team season, Takahashi, at Blain's urging, went to Italy. In December 2021, he joined Padwa, and later moved to Monza, with which he reached the LegaVolley finals and the Challenge Cup semifinals in 2024. In the 2024 league season, he recorded 49% attacking efficiency, 35% attack effectiveness, and 53% positive reception. After three years in Italy, he returned to Japan after the 2024 national team season, which — as the author described — was hampered by ankle injuries and a defeat at the Olympic Games. According to Balcerzak, Takahashi became the face of the SV League project, and in the first season he won a double gold crown and almost all individual awards. After his second season in Japan, he chose Lublin, wanting to find himself in a new environment before the Los Angeles Olympics. The author stated that in the 2026 national team season, the player was among the top five volleyball players, recording 53% attacking efficiency, 39% attack effectiveness, and 53% positive reception. He also quoted coach Stéphane Antiga’s opinion, who described Takahashi as a “complete outside hitter,” and pointed out that the player particularly valued defense, precision, and mentality. #TAURONLiga #Siatkówka #RanTakahashi #Debiut (translated)

Jakub Balcerzak pointed out Michał Szalacha as a middle blocker and highlighted his performance against Energa Trefla Gdańsk, which ended with a score of 3:1. He added that he also had 4 service aces, 5 points from blocks, and 7 digs. #TAURONLiga #Siatkówka #Sport #TAURONLiga (translated)

Jakub Balcerzak wrote that the slogan "Beat the master" was meant to motivate the remaining teams this season, and Michał Winiarski's team — just like the Polish national team led by Nikola Grbić — was supposed to face opponents playing at full risk in every match. He pointed out that Trefl Sordyla a week earlier, and GKS Siewiorka that day had played excellent matches of that kind. He wondered how many weaker teams would still be able to replicate such a performance and congratulated GKS. #TAURONLiga #TAURONLiga #siatkówka #sport (translated)

According to Balcerzak, Oliver Lecat, Marcin Nowakowski, Oskar Kaczmarczyk, Erik Shoji, David Smith, and Luke Reynolds shared their knowledge and observations. Jakub Balcerzak informed that Tomohiro Ogawa spoke to the Japanese press about his goals and life in Lublin before the start of the league season. The player conveyed that he dreamed of playing in a foreign league and a strong club, and although he had been close to such a transfer several times before, Lublin was the first to take all necessary actions to acquire him. He added that he was happy and looking forward to another "wow" during home games. Ogawa assessed that he understood English well, and discussions about volleyball did not pose difficulties for him. Besides that topic, he preferred to spend time alone and did not care about the opinions of others, even if they considered him a weirdo. As he stated, he came to Lublin to become a better volleyball player. #TAURONLiga #Siatkówka #Lublin #TOMOHIROOGAWA (translated)

Jakub Balcerzak wrote that Japanese media positively evaluated the first weeks of Rana Takahashi and Tomihiro Ogawa in Lublin. According to him, they pointed out the interest in volleyball comparable to that observed daily in Japan and the support the players received from the club from the beginning of preparations. Balcerzak added that Takahashi and Ogawa praised the club, the city, and the fans. Ogawa highlighted the cheering, which he described as different from that in Asia, while Takahashi noted the family-like character of the club community, which was new to him. As Balcerzak wrote, both players were looking forward to the beginning of the season and wanted to see if the interest in volleyball in other parts of Poland matches that in Lublin. #TAURONLiga #siatkówka #Lublin #Japonia (translated)
