Gilbert O'Sullivan (Waterford, 1 december 1946) is een Iers zanger en songwriter. O'Sullivan werd geboren in Waterford in Ierland als Raymond Edward O'Sullivan (Ray). Al op jonge leeftijd speelde hij piano. Tijdens zijn studie begon hij liedjes te schrijven en hij speelde in verschillende semi-professionele bands. Hij speelde ook gitaar en drums.
