Seydi Ba advised people participating in the demonstration planned for the following day to film any potential police violence, considering video as an effective means of defense. He stated that it was legal to film the police and that an officer could not prohibit it solely because they were being filmed, nor could they force someone to delete their footage. He recommended enabling automatic backup on iCloud, Google Photos, or OneDrive, and then sending the videos as soon as the network allowed, which was often congested during demonstrations. He also suggested live streaming, provided that the platform kept a recording, and advised filming before an incident, announcing the date, time, and location out loud, and framing the RIO number of the officers, which was mandatory except in cases allowed by regulations. Seydi Ba also called for maintaining distance and avoiding filming the faces of other demonstrators, especially during live streams. In the event of violence, he advised against immediately publishing the footage, to keep the original file unaltered and to pass it on to a lawyer. He finally warned about the risk of images disappearing or a phone being damaged after being handled by police officers. #Manifestation #ViolencesPolicières #DroitsDesCitoyens (translated)
