The violence that is escalating today in front of many high schools in France is extremely worrying. It is unacceptable. Burning a high school, damaging a public establishment, attacking a teacher, a firefighter, or a police officer is not protesting. It is destroying and committing violence. Nothing can justify it. Nothing can excuse it. I understand the revolt of the French who work, who pay their taxes, and who see the public facilities they have financed and that their children need being degraded or going up in smoke. In a country that is already facing so many difficulties, destroying what belongs to everyone is truly outraging. Nothing can justify preventing those who want to study from accessing high schools either. The authors of violence and destruction must be identified and held accountable for their actions. There can be no complacency with those who break, burn, or attack. The cynical exploitation of high school students by LFI and the political forces that want to fuel conflict is scandalous. Everything can spiral out of control very quickly. And any tragedy would inevitably be exploited by those who have an interest in social confrontation. Total support for the civil servants who carry out their missions with awareness, calmness, and professionalism. Recognition to all those who work to restore calm: parents, responsible trade unions, and all others. What we are experiencing gives a pretty clear idea of what the networks of an extreme left are preparing, which despises democratic rules and betrays republican values. (translated)
Same troubles, same reactions. This is not supposed to be our first mission (but rather that of the State) but I again congratulate the Municipal Police officers for their determined and "clinical" action this morning in front of certain high schools. Result: 8 individuals apprehended in front of 3 high schools for attempted arson, firework shootings, and violence against public authority representatives. The parents of minors will also be summoned. The Municipal Police also prevented the blockade of an establishment. Thus we are dealing with this little delinquency that breaks, burns, assaults, and does not respect the uniform, public space, or institutions. Politically, LFI will have to assume all its responsibilities in its instrumentalization of a certain youth for insurrectionary purposes. (translated)
Madam @vpecresse, You announce that you want to send the residents of https://t.co/NgzQcjii4v.s and pierrefittois.e.s a bill of 100,000 €. The Paul-Éluard high school is under the authority of the Region. Its maintenance, security, and the conditions for receiving students are your responsibility, not that of the City. Will you send a bill to every municipality where the youth is mobilizing? I have spent several mornings engaging in dialogue with the young people, parents, teachers, and the forces present to avoid escalation. Supporting the demands of high school students does not mean encouraging vandalism or calling for violence. You announce in your tweet 45 million euros for renovation, which is good. But why did you reduce the funding of half of the public high schools in Île-de-France, last Wednesday? The funding for Paul-Éluard has decreased for the second consecutive year. In January, you increased the funding for private high schools by 4 million. The taxpayers of Île-de-France also have some bills to send you: – 1.487 million euros for Stanislas, between illegal gifts and external fees, an institution implicated for its excesses; – 900,000 € in gifts made to Stérin, the far-right activist; – 25 million euros to compensate for the insufficient funding of public high schools, fundable by recovering the 13 million annual payments made to private high schools without any legal obligation; – 143 million euros to restore the budget cut from vocational training; – and an invaluable bill for all the lives disrupted by malfunctioning transportation. 100,000 € claimed from Saint-Denis. Millions given to the private sector and your friends. There are your priorities. So rather than a bill, come and actually discuss with the young people, and give them what they are asking for: a safe and healthy work site, sufficient staff, and adequate funding. (translated)
What I saw this morning at Braque High School in Argenteuil: high school students peacefully expressing legitimate demands; teachers and parents present in support. The government that describes this movement as an "urban riot" wants to legitimize its violent repression to avoid having to answer for the consequences of its budget cuts on young people's lives. ⚡️FLASH - Mobilization #highschool: the deputy Clémentine #Autain calls on the police prefect after the intervention of law enforcement in #Sevran. The elected official reports the use of mounted police, several arrests, 3 GAV (garde à vue), a shot from a LBD (defense ball launcher) into the legs of a representative of parents of students, as well as "numerous insults" from police towards young people and educational staff. "This mobilization deserves political responses. Not repression," she denounces. (translated)
This scene is just stunning and shocking. 😳 Who would have dared to use the informal "you," intimidate, and not respect the principal of their school back then? No one. If we had dared to do that, our parents would have given us a correction, and rightly so. Times have changed so much and it's so chilling. This country needs a huge shock of authority.. 🙄 (translated)

The government are failing children with additional needs on a fundamental level; forcing parents to battle for assessments, therapies, school places, & essential supports for their children. We stood with parents & carers protesting outside the Dáil today #EveryChildMatters https://t.co/lEtrYND3Fp #EveryChildMatters #AdditionalNeeds #ChildrensRights #IE
It is estimated that around 90% of all the time children will ever spend with their parents happens before they turn 18, and around 95% before they turn 30. Keep that in mind. Especially if you have young children. https://t.co/H2Naa1WvoU #Parenting #ChildDevelopment #FamilyTime #None
