Rientrata in 48 ore l'emergenza Ceuta, restano alcune certezze: 1.

www.eldiario.es

Giorgia Meloni, leader of the Italian far right, has used the migratory crisis in Ceuta to reactivate anti-migratory proposals and position herself for the 2027 elections, which has triggered a diplomatic crisis with Spain following the suspension of the Schengen treaty, as her reaction has been seen as an opportunistic attempt to attack Pedro Sánchez and regain political support in a context of increasing internal competition.

The European Union can respond to the migration crisis in Ceuta by introducing temporary controls at internal borders, but it cannot close the Schengen area for Spain, as no legal provision allows this. (translated)

Italy has announced an increase of 500 police officers to strengthen border controls in response to the migrant crisis in Ceuta, while the Spanish minister criticized the temporary suspension of the Schengen treaty and called for its restoration, highlighting that cooperation with third countries will be necessary to address issues of repatriation and migration security in Europe. In the videoconference of the EU interior ministers, the effectiveness of the Spanish management of the crisis in Ceuta was emphasized, reiterating that Schengen has never been at risk, while Spain asked Italy to lift the additional border controls, deemed "incomprehensible," in a climate of tension and lack of European solidarity. Ceuta.

#Siirtolaisuus #Schengen #Etuudet
