Er zijn altijd wel politici die zwichten voor de "druk" van dolgedraaide linkse media. Tekenend dat er zelfs geen stemmen meer aan het woord mogen komen die vinden dat er wél genoeg gedaan wordt. In een week waarin de rente-sneeuwbal niet naar een virtueel maar een echt failliet begint te rollen, moet je dat kunnen. "Buiten de begroting" bestaat niet. Alles gaat naar schuld. Alles moet vroeg of laat betaald worden. Waar moeten die 4 miljard "klimaatuitgaven" dan heengaan? "Sociale leasing voor elektrische wagens". In de categorie frigobonnen en andere subsidiewaanzin dus. Effect op klimaatadapatie? Nul komma nul. Bij elk ramp, van zware regen tot aangestoken branden hetzelfde liedje. Verenigd links, een groot deel van de media en "grote denkers" voelen hun moment weer gekomen. "Waarom doet de politiek niets?". Als je dan vraagt wat er nog moet gebeuren, blijft het ijzig stil. Morele verontwaardiging zonder enige inhoud. En dan krijg je dus "miljarden voor sociale leasing" of "nog meer middelen naar sociale woningbouw". "Er gebeurt niets voor het klimaat" is de grootste onzin die er bestaat. Er gaan elk jaar miljarden naar klimaatmitigatie (grotendeels verspilling) en adapatie. Bovenop de absurde en welvaartsvernietigende taxatie systemen, waarbij ETS2 binnenkort er al weer aankomt. Enkel door technologische innovatie en vooruitgang zijn we op een historisch snel tempo al tot een C02-arme samenleving gekomen. Dat hoor je natuurlijk niet in de drama-berichtgeving. Het laatste wat de overheid doen is daar nog een extra schep bovenop de miljarden van vandaag doen. Brandweer en veiligheid verbeteren daarentegen is een zaak van kerntaken. Niet van klimaathysterie. Maar de komende maanden zullen links-groene media weer doen alsof er een "gigantisch groot draagvlak is voor klimaatmaatregelen". Dat draagvlak bestaat alleen in hun zelf verzonnen realiteit en het selecte kransje academici en "grote denkers", die daar hun verdienmodel van maakten. Later zijn ze weer enorm verbaasd dat "mensen toch niet mee zijn" en "waarom begrijpen ze het toch niet?". Intussen voelen klimaatactivisten zich gesterkt om elke zomer de brandhaard aan te steken.
