The author wrote that escorts were extremely costly and were not expected to remain in place indefinitely. They also cited geopolitical uncertainty, including the Houthis’ threat to alternative routes, Iran’s position on striking vessels in transit and what they described as erratic, unpredictable US policies. The post began to describe Israel’s positioning as “highly” but did not complete the thought. #Geopolitics #Iran #USPolicy #IR #US #IL

The author wrote that Middle Eastern oil exports had marginally exceeded prewar average levels, citing the Wall Street Journal, while Brent was at $109 and WTI at $101. They attributed upward pressure on prices to supply uncertainty, saying markets viewed current shipment levels as unsustainable, and also listed demand uncertainty and global inventories as factors.

The author wrote that any deal struck would be viewed as illegitimate by the Ukrainian government, the Ukrainian people, EU leaders and G7 leaders other than those from the United States. They said the deal could confirm Russia’s red line and bring the US position closer to it, which they argued would help continue the war rather than end it. #UkrainianConflict #InternationalRelations #Geopolitics #UKR #EU #G7 #RUS #US

The author wrote that the APEC summit, scheduled for Nov. 18–19, was too close to the US midterms to influence votes, although Donald Trump would try to portray any “winning” rhetoric as a success. They said any agreement reached would be undermined by the EU and Ukraine, and argued that China could not act as a broker or neutral party. #APEC #USPolitics #InternationalRelations #US #EU #UK #CN #UA

Economicopoly argued that the US Treasury would avoid disrupting US debt markets because the consequences would be catastrophic, and would instead burden American households through currency debasement and high debt costs. The account predicted a long decline. #USDebt #Economy #Inflation #US

This is historic! Which is why we are draining another 40MM barrels of oil out of SPR which currently sits at its lowest level since 1982. So much winning, so much hurts... #Oil #History #Energy #Nospecificcountriesarementionedinthetweet.

+ Incidentally, that view perfectly aligns with the fact the US has paused Taiwan weapons sales, effectively cutback restrictions on strategic tech exports to China, etc. #Taiwan #China #TechExport #US #TW #CN

Our friends at @BBCBreaking @BBCWorld are patently chomping on some rare mushrooms: https://t.co/tpSnivSfuu It will have helped cement Xi's image at home as Trump's equal." @SecScottBessent asked for it. Bond market is setting his "HOUSE" on fire. US 10Y = 5.223% = 19-year high; 30Y = 5.525% = 22-year high. #BondMarket #InterestRates #Economy #US

2 things: av vs median --> top end of the market is compressing; heavy discounts on builders' inventories are starting to rise. These are not 'new' homes, but largely unfinished units that sat on the market for some time & now have to be dumped b/c cost of carry is rising. #RealEstate #MarketTrends #HousingCrisis #Therearenospecificcountryreferencesinthetweetyouprovided. Therefore #theresultis:

Any agreement to hold over time will require some sort of constraints on the US & Iran. And it has to be automatic & internationally verifiable. Like JCPOA. except there is no international (& bilateral) will this at this stage. #JCPOA #Iran #Diplomacy #US #IR

So, @WhiteHouse has declared some weeks ago that the US Navy controls the Strait. If true (and we trust the President!), what's there to negotiate? The Strait is open, Iran is defeated, oil is flowing & gas prices are dropping. Nirvana. #USNavy #StraitControl #GasPrices #US #IR

@davork Not quite. For example, Europe is currently paying multiples of the US prices for US LNG. The problem is structural: 1. Contracts for supply are NOT spot prices. 2. Shipping & auxiliary services costs are rising rapidly & enter the further push away the price paid. 3. Markets + #LNG #EnergyPrices #Europe #US #EU
