Here we have the first reaction to the rising electricity prices, the cause of which is the increase in gas prices and geopolitics completely outside of the Czech Republic. Nationalization of #ČEZ is on the agenda…. The idea of cheap electricity and the necessary “brutal” investments (only financed by the state) with reasonable returns indicating prices. (translated)

Hellooooo! We are returning to high prices for gas and electricity and of course also for fuels. Inflation will come again! (translated)

The average price of electricity in the Czech daily market rose in August to 138.21 EUR/MWh, the highest this year. Compared to July, it increased by more than 25% and nearly by 80% year-on-year. (translated)

Gas prices continue to rocket. Short contracts at 75 EUR/MWh. 🇨🇿 The price of electricity with delivery in 2027 is shifting between 125 and 130 EUR/MWh. The warning sounds from spring 2026. The price of gas, given the current level of storage in EU countries, can now easily attack 100 EUR/MWh. (translated)

Opposition party representatives are labeling the government's planned deficit of 389 billion crowns for next year as irresponsible or a political crime. According to them, it doesn't make sense in the current economic growth and will lead to an increase in interest on public debt and a decline in the standard of living for citizens. (translated)

Currently, the price of electricity for 2027 is 121 EUR/MWh, the price of gas for 2027 is 52 EUR/MWh. Monthly gas contracts at TTF are at 70 EUR/MWh. CO2 allowance at 83 EUR/t. If the immediate price of gas rises to 100 EUR/MWh and more, then we should really prepare for electricity prices for 2027 and (translated)

CNBC: According to analysts, gas prices in Europe could exceed 100 euros per MWh. If that happens by the end of the year, then electricity for the year 2027 will be 140 to 160 EUR/MWh, and the year 2028 will also jump a lot…. (translated)

Maybe this is the topic. In politics, everyone avoids it. The opposition is silent, the leaders are silent. For AB, it is not a priority. Yet it is the holy grail of prosperity and citizens' trust in the state. I would go vote right away if someone put a well-thought-out solution on the table... (translated)

ČEZ is investing up to 12 billion CZK per year after extending the operation of nuclear blocks. An 80-year lifespan has been confirmed. Just recently, even 60 years was not certain. Dukovany has completed half of its lifespan. Over 10 years ago, when there was talk about the necessity of building Temelín, Dukovany was set to end between 2025 and 2027. (translated)

Without surprise, I am watching how the discussion about 700 billion for the two new EDU blocks has been stirred up here, when the government @P_Fiala has carefully carved the price of 400 billion into stone in public and until the last election moment of 2025. My note: I repeat, the current American and European real experience. (translated)

There was great interest in the text in Novinky and my comment with the price estimate (1 to 1.5 trillion crowns based on the prices of new nuclear reactors in Europe and the USA) regarding the price of new nuclear units in Dukovany and Karel Havlíček's admission that it will not be 400 but up to 700 billion CZK. I remind you that just recently (translated)

Almost twice as expensive as expected. The completion of Dukovany will cost 700 billion, Havlíček admitted (Fiala and company shouted 400) ...and that's just the beginning, nothing is being built. They are just doing paperwork. Now it is acknowledged that there will also be financial costs, it is still not acknowledged that the price of 400 billion crowns was the price. (translated)

Coal is disappearing from European energy, but in the Czech Republic it still holds 36 percent .... and this will continue, the price of electricity will rise due to the missing renewables compared to Western Europe. (translated)

Europe has record low gas supplies, the market fears a price shock. (translated)

Could Trump and his tales about the deal & the USA before completely leaving the area be even more humiliated? (translated)

Czech companies will improve: The state can now cover up to 80 percent of energy costs. (translated)

The time of illusions and cheap financing of nuclear power plants, the low price of electricity is still alive, even though these investments will drive state debt into the clouds and the price of electricity calculated from the financial costs of the budget and the bills will end up at levels that currently no one can even imagine.
