Zastro wrote that Panathinaikos won 5-1, showing improvement and good football, although, as he noted, Asteras created dangerous counterattacks in the first half. He appreciated that the difference in quality showed later on and that, despite Papakanellos' goal for 2-1, the hosts did not allow the Arkadians to come back. He mentioned Lousa and Calabria as the top performers. Regarding the Moroccan, he said he was decisive in the buildup and ball circulation, with two assists and one goal, while he noted that the Italian improved his performance in the second half and was one of the five different scorers. He also highlighted Deser's goal and Salah Edin's appearance, while he characterized the center-backs as stable, despite some individual mistakes. Zastro mentioned that Antino had great intensity but would need a rest, and that Tamborda participated in the buildup for the 5-1. Regarding Andreas, he noted that he needed to improve his collaboration with his teammates. He positively commented on the return of Tsiriveghia, while he wrote that Garcia was not in the mood and Rastonder did not show up. As a negative point, he mentioned the potential muscle injuries of Unai and Yakusich. He added that Unai would have an MRI the next day to determine the extent of the problem. Finally, he referred to the presence of old acquaintances at OAKA, highlighting Mike Galakos and Rene. #ποδόσφαιρο #Παναθηναϊκός #πρωτάθλημα (translated)

Óðinn compared Sloukas's management with that of other players, writing that in the past Sloukas even played against Lianokladi, while "in the end he did not live." He mentioned that Moraitis and Toliopoulos were substituted after five seconds and only competed when Grant was visibly limited. He contrasted this by noting that another player received 10 assists from Moraitis and described the development as a return to reason, using profanity as well. #PAOBC #Μπάσκετ #Αθλητισμός #Λογική (translated)

Zalgiris, in the absence of its main creator and best perimeter player Nigel Goss, would rely heavily on Jonas Valanciunas from the start. Coach Bartzokas (in something he has done many times in the past) went for multiple help defenses in post-up situations when the Lithuanian superstar received the ball, setting the tone that he didn’t want any shots taken from there. Valanciunas' quality, in the absence of a creator, was enough to keep Zalgiris in the game: in a match decided by a single point, Valanciunas dominated, finishing with +13 (something we leverage, as the difference with him on the court was glaring), creating 7 assists, 5 potential assists, and 4 passes to assists (!). This is one of those times when the public discussion is not exactly right: yes, you don't play drop against Fournier. But for Zalgiris, to be within a point against elite teams, Valanciunas' presence on the court is a necessary and sufficient condition - because his quality and impact cannot be matched. So we have two situations: A correct tactical choice on one side (not executing Valanciunas in the post, shifting Zalgiris’ offense to long-range shots or close-outs). And on the other hand, the opponent's quality to find a solution to this correct tactical choice and be well within the game. Great things again this year in the Euroleague! Tomorrow our analysis, along with today’s matches and of course the game of PAO! #Ζάλγκιρις #Valanciunas #Ευρωλίγκα (translated)
