Iga Świątek said in front of the Canal+ Sport cameras after defeating Ashlyn Krueger that her solid and intense play in the first set and effective defense were key to her victory. As she assessed, this put pressure on her opponent. In the second set, Ashlyn Krueger raised her level, so Świątek had to adjust; she was pleased that she played well in the most important moments. The Polish player conveyed that she is focusing on recovery and preparations for the upcoming matches at the end of the season, rather than on qualifying for the WTA Finals, which — as she pointed out — did not solely depend on her yet. Regarding the playing conditions, Świątek said that she had been playing her recent matches in different circumstances and did not yet know the court well enough to precisely predict how she would have to adapt. She assessed that during the match with Krueger, the balls were heavier, and the humidity was higher than during the morning session, but she preferred those conditions. She added that from the beginning she was ready to adapt to a different ball bounce and the opponent's playing style. #zkortu #IgaŚwiątek #WTA #tenis (translated)

Cyrus Razavi wrote that Afrah Al Jabouri was born and raised in Denmark, spokesperson for the Ashura procession and had connections to the Imam Ali Mosque, which he described as having documented ties to the Islamic Republic. He referred to her public sympathy for Ali Khamenei and content on TikTok and wrote that it raised questions about her national affiliation. Razavi wrote that Al Jabouri had shared a quote about her soul belonging in Karbala, even though she was born in a country with cold winters and cold hearts. He also mentioned a quote that she, according to him, attributed to Khamenei, stating that Iran was less important than Islam. Razavi asked whether Denmark was therefore not important to her either, and where her loyalty lay. #dkpol #dkmedier #dkpol #islam #AfrahAlJabouri (translated)
