Wazza argued that the team should have maintained a distance of 30 meters instead of stretching out to 50, and that at 1-1 they were not playing so poorly as to warrant talk of disaster. He added that a continuous comeback required physical and mental energies that were difficult to find, while deeming the collapse that followed a serious error unjustifiable. According to Wazza, every defense became vulnerable when it was too exposed, especially with a high center of gravity and without a player assigned to protect it. He criticized the use of inverted wingers in the 3-5-2 formation: he praised Diouf for his work in the last 20 meters and for his commitment, but linked his exposure and Spence's error— which he called unjustifiable— to being in the wrong position on the flank. He noted that the caution shown first by Dumfries and then by Luis Henrique perhaps reduced offensive production, but guaranteed vital balance. In his view, Spence would earn his place once he reached full fitness. Wazza identified Calhanoglu, Sucic, and Miky as the three midfielders who provided balance to the team. He recalled that Miky was 37 years old and could not always be the protagonist, but that no one else in the squad had his characteristics: for this reason, he believed the others should be prepared for a more cautious setup when Miky was unavailable. Finally, he said that for him, the home defeats against Bodo and Brugge hurt more than a final loss and called for Chivu to remain at Inter, to be allowed to make mistakes and grow. He described the coach's choice as a gamble already rewarded with two trophies, adding that the responsibilities for the mistakes also lay with the tactician Cecchi and the players, whose serious individual errors had directed the match towards disaster. #Calcio #Inter #Tattica (translated)

pap1pap wrote that the goal for 2-1 had left the team confused, causing them to lose their spacing. He believed that Zielinski had stayed on the field 60 minutes too long and criticized the use of Diouf alone, arguing that he could not continue to try to get past three opponents. He found the lack of Augusto's entry incomprehensible and noted that Spence was not yet in shape, especially when positioned on the left. According to pap1pap, the starting lineup was correct, but changes were needed during the game: he suggested switching to four attackers while keeping three midfielders and said that Pepo should return to the bench. He also contested the result, noting that the team had taken 30 shots, scored three goals, and conceded four. He urged to turn the page quickly, to reconsider some choices, and to try to reach the playoffs, while acknowledging the great game played by the Belgians. #calcio #sport #tattica (translated)

Daniele Mari reported that Chivu had emphasized how Diouf had become an international player and was part of one of the most important national teams in the world. The coach expressed satisfaction with how the player had adapted to the role identified for him based on his characteristics, giving him credit for the results achieved with his performances. Regarding Esposito, Chivu noted that he had been an international for some time and expressed his happiness to see him being decisive with Italy as he was for the team. #calcio #nazionale #sport (translated)

Chivu said he had seen Diouf play as a left-back, but explained that in Inter's five-man defense, he would have had to cover the role of the fifth defender. In his opinion, the player appeared a bit fearful but still played well. Chivu added that he appreciated the player’s versatility and recalled that he had covered several positions in his career, from left-back to center-back, from midfielder to playmaker, up to winger. He recounted that in Bergamo Mourinho had substituted him after 27 minutes and that in Barcelona he had played in midfield after Thiago's red card. Chivu said that Diouf had been a starter in one of the strongest national teams in the world, had played with Olise and Dembélé, and had trained with Mbappé. According to him, the player was also happy at Inter, where he played with Lautaro, Thuram, Barella, Mkhitaryan, and Akanji, and should have integrated even more on a mental level. Chivu argued that being able to cover multiple roles could favor a player's growth and increase his chances of being called up to the national team. #calcio #sport #duttile (translated)

Daniele Mari reported that Chivu had described Diouf as a person with exceptional character strength, able to overcome a difficult period without complaining or speaking during training. The coach expressed satisfaction that the player was showing his qualities and making himself available to the team. He also welcomed Diouf's call-up to the French national team, emphasizing that securing a spot was not easy, and added that the player still had ample room for growth. #Calcio #Nazionali #Sport (translated)

Wazza wrote that the people who urged not to overly praise Pio Esposito, 21 years old, champion of Italy with FC Internazionale 1908 and scorer of 7 goals in 13 matches with the National Team, then went out to celebrate because Moreira had run faster than Diouf. He concluded by stating that Moreira had dominated the match. #Calcio #Sport #Inter (translated)

Rothen: "One cannot say that Diouf had an incredible match, because there is an offensive phase and a defensive phase. The real problem is positioning. However, these are things that are learned. In fact, I would say that perhaps it is even the easiest thing to learn, because he simply needs to take ownership of the role. And with all due respect to Truffert, who is his rival, Diouf is stronger. I'm not saying he will become the best defender in the world, but then there is the offensive phase. And the potential. I would insist. And above all, I think he could be the future in that role, if he really applies himself. The only doubt is that he does not play in that position at his club." #Calcio #Diouf #FuturoSportivo (translated)

» 🗞️ @lequipe #EquipeDeFrance #Zidane #Football
