Gustavo Petro denied having ordered anyone to pressure someone to testify against Álvaro Uribe or another political leader and stated that no evidence had been presented to demonstrate this. In response to the statements of Salvatore Mancuso and Angie Rodríguez, he requested that the facts be investigated and documents, communications, recordings, and the names of those involved be made public. Petro maintained that the meeting with former commanders of the self-defense groups was not held in secret and that it was established by Resolution 327 on September 21, 2025. He wrote that the act aimed to clarify the truth, repair the victims, and conclude a peace process that had begun more than twenty years ago. He added that the Attorney General's Office, the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the Ombudsman's Office were considered permanent guests to accompany and supervise the process, and asked if they had been summoned and if their representatives attended. The president said that if anyone used that space to pressure testimonies or fabricate accusations, they must respond to justice. He also stated that anyone attributing to him an order he had not given would have to answer for their statements, and insisted that responsibilities must be proven, not based on rumors. Petro linked the controversy to the need to clarify who ordered massacres, financed paramilitary groups, or benefited from their crimes. He stated that the victims deserved answers and reiterated that everything should be investigated and all parties should be heard. #Colombia #Verdad #Justicia (translated)
