Und auch die Herkunft dieses Reichtums gehört dazu: Kühne + Nagel war während der NS-Zeit an der sogenannten „M-Aktion“ beteiligt, bei der Eigentum deportierter und ermordeter Jüdinnen und Juden aus rund 70.000 Wohnungen abtransportiert und verwertet wurde. Eine umfassende unabhängige Aufarbeitung gibt es bis heute nicht.
