Researchers at the University of Cambridge have demonstrated that artificial intelligence is able to recognize jazz pianists through the analysis of their musical performances, achieving an accuracy of 94.4% in identifying 20 famous musicians from recordings converted to Midi format. (translated)

Novastar is a Belgian rock band led by Dutch-born singer-songwriter and guitarist/pianist Joost Zweegers. They are known for their emotional ballads, and the high pitch of Zweegers's voice. Zweegers has also released solo material under the name Novastar. Novastar was the winner of Humo's Rock Rally in 1996. Their self-titled debut album Novastar was not released until four years later, in 2000, but with success. The album, produced by Wouter Van Belle and Marc Bonne, was released by Warner Music, reached #1 on the Ultratop Chart in Flanders, and won the band a platinum record. The Guess Who is een Canadese rockband die hits scoorde als American Woman en Clap For The Wolfman. Het festival Le Guess Who? is naar hen vernoemd.  De geschiedenis van The Guess Who gaat terug tot 1958, toen Chad Allan (zang) in Winnipeg zijn band Al and the Silvertones oprichtte. Deze band veranderde haar naam later in Chad Allan and the Reflections en daarna in The Expressions. Ze bestond naast Allan uit Randy Bachman (gitaar), Jim Kale (basgitaar) en Garry Peterson (drums). In Engeland oogstten ze succes met de single His Girl, waarna ze bij Mills Music en King Records tekenden. Met Bob Ashley als pianist werd in 1965 de single Shakin' All Over uitgebracht (een nieuwe versie van een nummer van Johnny Kidd and the Pirates uit 1960). Among many great concertos by legendary composers, Sergei Rachmaninoff‘s contributions, specifically his second concerto, remains one of all-time favorites of mine. The sweeping melody played by the cellos in the first movement is easily one of the most emotionally devastating moments in all of classical music. Then comes the second movement, suspended in a sentimental, dreamlike state, followed by the stunning third movement, driven by those thrilling, jumping staccatos. Few musical forms capture the sheer scale of human drama quite like the piano concerto. It is the ultimate dialogue: a single, vulnerable instrument standing up to, conversing with, and sometimes battling an entire hundred-piece orchestra. But let’s get one thing straight before we dive in. I generally don’t like the idea of designating the “best” or top music pieces or composers. Art, in general, is very subjective. Yes, there are criteria that make a musical piece technically “better” than another, but after a point, when those criteria are over the standard, it is not possible to choose objectively what is better. As the great Béla Bartók once dryly put it: “Competition is for horses, not composers.” Even so, it is undeniably fun to introduce my personal favorite pieces and composers. So while we may casually throw around phrases like the “best piano concertos of all time,” keep in mind there is no specific order here. These are simply ten awesome works that offer a transcendent listening experience.
