Don Ricardo Salinas Pliego said that an X-ray examination of a work from RSP Collections had revealed a painting beneath the "Portrait of Moctezuma II." According to his interpretation, the original image depicted a leader of Tenochtitlan with authority, but the person who paid for the work ordered it to be repainted to present Moctezuma as submissive. Salinas Pliego invited the public to see the work in the exhibit "Cabinet of Curiosities" at the University of Liberty, and to consult the collection on the library's microsite. https://t.co/BnOwsroYC3 #Historia #Arte #Tenochtitlan (translated)

Professor Eduardo (The Weatherman) warned that a period of intense instability, which he said would last from Monday to Friday, would affect the region from Coquimbo to Los Lagos. He pointed out that a low-pressure system could cause rain of varying intensity, strong thunderstorms, hail, and wind; he also mentioned possible precipitation in parts of Atacama and strong winds in the northern region. Describing a projection from the European model ECMWF on Wibdy, he indicated that between Tuesday and Wednesday some areas could receive more than 20 millimeters of rain and others more than 50. He added that for Thursday and Friday, another round of precipitation and storms was expected, with cores that, as he explained, pointed to the potential for severe storms and hail. Eduardo stated that the number of storms posed a very high risk of sudden flooding and a high likelihood of landslides, due to the isotherm being situated between 2,500 and 3,000 meters above sea level, or even a bit higher. He warned that the episode could cause more complications and damage than recent events and that it could still intensify, so he urged people to prepare. #Inestabilidad #Tormentas #Clima (translated)

The French Mileistes reported having long seen comments accusing David Lisnard of being particularly repressive during the Covid crisis. Living on the Côte d'Azur and working in Cannes, the author stated that he went to the city every day outside of confinement periods and was then worried about what he perceived as an authoritarian drift justified by health reasons. The author explained that Lisnard, the mayor of Cannes, had not convinced him at first. However, he remembered a piece by the mayor published in Le Figaro during the crisis, where he, according to his account, criticized bureaucracy, cited Tocqueville, and denounced the constraints related to movement certificates. This stance gave him moral support while he read authors from the Austrian School of economics and worried about freedoms. The French Mileistes also reported that a bookstore in Cannes, located near their office, had remained open despite the bans and had garnered attention in the national press. According to the author, Lisnard had publicly supported it, went there to buy a book, and asked Roselyne Bachelot to stop its forced closure by the National Police, without success. The author described him as one of the few elected officials to openly defend this type of local resistance and indicated that he had also accused Emmanuel Macron of using the vaccination pass for political purposes. The author acknowledged that Lisnard had also had beaches sprayed with hydrogen peroxide and actively supported vaccination. He believed that the mayor had favored targeted, anticipated, and local measures rather than general restrictions, and presented the Covid period as proof of his courage and sincerity. He concluded that he would not forget that Lisnard had, in his opinion, defended freedoms while almost all other elected officials turned away from them. #Liberté #Politique #CôteDAzur (translated)
Marcin Borzęcki assessed that the difference between Lech and Bayer was huge: he pointed out that one club brought in players for 3 million, while the other did so for 30 million. He added that for some, qualifying for the Europa League was a success, while for others it meant relegation from the Champions League, which is why he considered the match result logical. At the same time, he wrote that the coach should try to minimize the quality difference between the teams. In his opinion, under Frederiksena's tenure, Lech did not seem like a team capable of cup surprises, and its defense was brutally tested in Europe. Borzęcki believed that the team should be able to both attack and defend low, as well as complicate the opponents' game. To support his assessment, he cited Lech's results: 1:3 and 1:1 against Crvena, 1:5 and 2:1 against Genk, 2:3 against Rayo, 1:1 against Mainz, 1:3 and 2:1 against Shakhtar, 0:4 against Crystal, 0:4 against Bayer, and 1:4 against Aarhus. Despite acknowledging Frederiksena's work and his staff, he believed that the defensive playing style foreshadowed regular, sometimes heavy defeats against at least slightly better opponents. He added that the squad's construction, stronger in front than at the back, might have influenced this, but in his opinion, the coach did not help to mitigate this disparity. #LechPoznań #piłkaNożna #EuropaLeague (translated)
