Parę uwag: Po pierwsze, tak odpowiada się na próbę szantażu w rodzaju tych Trumpa; płacenie haraczu - jak robi to Europa - nie da bezpieczeństwa, tylko wygeneruje dodatkowe koszty. Po drugie: warto zwrócić uwagę, że rezultatem wycofywania się USA nie musi być powrót do wojen i chaosu; może nim być albo wzmocnienie odstraszania (poprzez wzmocnienie zdolności konwencjonalnych), albo postawienie na dialog, poprzez zejście z maksymalistycznych pozycji.
