La salute pubblica non può diventare una guerra tra “pro vax” e “#novax”. La politica, e più in generale la società civile, non può permettersi di dividersi in tifoserie su un tema così delicato come i vaccini. Trasformare una questione di salute pubblica in uno scontro identitario — sei pro-vax o sei no-vax? — è una semplificazione pericolosa. Sarebbe come chiedere se si è “pro” o “contro” la mafia, la giustizia o il carcere per chi commette reati: questioni complesse e fondamentali non possono essere ridotte a una contrapposizione ideologica. Sui vaccini servono scienza, responsabilità, trasparenza e confronto, non guerre politiche. È legittimo discutere di efficacia, sicurezza, modalità, obblighi e politiche sanitarie. Ma non è accettabile che questo confronto diventi una frattura permanente capace di mettere cittadini gli uni contro gli altri. L'appello deve essere rivolto a tutti: alle forze politiche, alle istituzioni, agli operatori sanitari, agli esperti, ai media e alla società civile. Troviamo un terreno comune: la tutela della salute, la corretta informazione e la fiducia nelle istituzioni sanitarie. Perché sui vaccini possiamo avere opinioni diverse. Ma sulla necessità di proteggere la salute pubblica dovremmo essere tutti dalla stessa parte.
