Den australske dommer Shaun Evans lavede i går et håndtegn, som de fleste kender fra "The Circle Game" – en uskyldig leg, som især unge mænd har leget i årevis. Kigger man på cirklen, har man tabt og skal i nogle versioner have en lammer. Nu bliver håndtegnet imidlertid kædet sammen med "white supremacy", fordi nogle - herunder danske medier - spekulerer i, at Evans brugte det som et signal for "WP" (White Power). Argumentet er, at en kendt terrorist fra New Zealand brugte tegnet for syv år siden. Det ville klæde folk at tænke sig om, før de forsøger at ødelægge et menneskes omdømme. For hvorfor i alverden skulle en højt respekteret dommer, der har opnået sin drengedrøm, pludselig vælge at sætte det hele over styr ved at signalere støtte til racisme på verdens største scene? I 99 procent af tilfældene bruges tegnet præcis til det, som Evans brugte det til: en harmløs leg. Han har formentlig ikke skænket det en tanke, at nogen kunne tillægge det en helt anden betydning. 🔥 Donald Trump s Íránem svým způsobem zažívá něco podobného jako Putin s Ukrajinou. Podle Washington Post mu jeho ministr obrany Pete Hegseth pravidelně předává informace, které neodpovídají realitě, výrazně nadsazuje úspěchy americké armády a snižuje význam a úspěch íránských reakcí. Ve výsledku podle novinářů Hegseth prezentuje válku s Íránem výrazně optimističtějším způsobem, než jaké odpovídá interním hodnocením americké administrativy a zpravodajských služeb. Donald Trump pak pravidelně označuje konflikt za neuvěřitelně úspěšný a Hegseth tvrdí, že Írán byl zahanben a ponížen, realita na zemi je ale podle WaPo mnohem složitější. Klíčovým momentem bylo nedávné sestřelení americké F-15E nad Íránem a následná záchranná operace. Incident podle amerických představitelů ukázal, že Írán si zachovává schopnost ohrožovat americké síly a zpochybnil Hegsethova tvrzení o plné kontrole íránského vzdušného prostoru a zcela volném nebi. Írán navíc během záchranné operace USA sestřelil i A-10. Než se na mě vrhnete, tak tohle je popis pozice amerických odborníků, se kterými mluvili novináři z WaPo. Článek vám odemknu a odkaz na něj najdete na konci. Podle analytičky Kelly Grieco mají USA sice vzdušnou převahu, ne ale úplnou nadvládu. Podle ní mají "air superiority", ale ne "air supremacy". Americké letectvo kvůli tomu podle ní operuje ve vyšších letových hladinách (nad 15–30 tisíci stop = cca 4,5-9km), aby minimalizovalo riziko zásahu přenosnými raketami. Uvnitř administrativy proto celkově panují obavy, že Hegseth (který se bojí, že po Pam Bondi může být na řadě a přijde o práci) jednoduše Donaldovi neříká pravdu a že geniální vojevůdce Donald pak následně tyhle zavádějící informace jednoduše opakuje. Pentagon zmíněnou kritiku odmítá jako lži a propagandu a tvrdí, že cíle operace (zničení íránského raketového arzenálu, námořnictva a zamezení získání jaderné zbraně) jsou plněny. Ehm hlavně k tomu poslednímu bodu, ale popojedem. Další rozpor v tom, co je realita a co prezentuje Hegseth pro Trumpa, se týká íránského raketového a dronového programu. Hegseth tvrdí, že je drtivě ničen, ale podle hodnocení amerických zpravodajských služeb zůstává více než polovina odpalovacích zařízení tamního režimu funkční a Írán tak má stále k dispozici tisíce útočných dronů. Hegseth ve snaze vylepšit svoji pozici před Donaldem taky mj. prezentoval pokles počtu íránských útoků jako důkaz úspěchu a prohlásil, že intenzita byla na konci března nejnižší od začátku války. Interní dokumenty i open-source analýzy ale ukazují, že nižší hodnoty byly zaznamenány už dřív (14., 15. a 22. března). Někteří američtí činitelé navíc označují samotný důraz na počet útoků za zavádějící. To, jak se Íránu daří, se podle nich neměří celkovým počtem odpálení, ale tím, jestli dosahuje svých cílů. Podle analytiků Írán změnil taktiku od masových útoků k menším, přesněji cíleným úderům s vyšší úspěšností zásahů. Příkladem je zničení amerického průzkumného letadla E-3 při útoku na základnu v Saúdské Arábii. Írán si navíc podle amerických odhadů šetřil zásoby na pozdější fázi konfliktu, zatímco americké a izraelské zásoby přesné munice se postupně tenčí. Dalším faktorem, který podle amerických činitelů se neřeší s dostatečnou vážností, je zapojení íránských proxy skupin (Hizballáh v Libanonu nebo šíitské milice v Iráku). Ty zvyšují tlak na protivzdušnou obranu a rozšiřují konflikt za hranice samotného Íránu. Jeden z představitelů administrativy k tomu uvedl, že USA jednoduše nebojují jen s Íránem, což do dneška z jeho pohledu nebylo dostatečně zdůrazněno. Výsledkem je, že USA a Izrael sice Írán vojensky výrazně oslabily, ale rozhodně nedosáhly kolapsu režimu, což je ve problém nejen pro ně, ale pro celý svět. Rozdíl mezi tím, co se od Hegsetha odstává k Donaldovi a od Donalda k veřejnosti, zvyšuje riziko, že politické vedení i veřejnost operují s nepřesným obrazem vývoje války. --- Baví a zajímá vás podobný info s kontextem?
