The Territorial Defense Forces reported that Mateusz Ritter, arrested by the police, had not been a soldier of the Polish Army for two months, although he publicly identified himself as a sergeant of the sappers company of the 12th Greater Poland Territorial Defense Brigade. According to the statement, he was not performing military service in the territorial defense, and he was discharged from service on August 14, 2026, due to behavior deemed to be a violation of military discipline under Article 353 of the Act of March 11, 2022, on the defense of the Homeland. As stated by the Territorial Defense Forces, the decision was based on documented media activities by Ritter. He was accused of illegally recording and disseminating materials from the unit's premises and images of soldiers without their consent and knowledge, as well as using his status as a soldier, uniform, military insignia, and the name of the unit for individual media activities. They also pointed out the vulgar form and content of the publications, which, in their opinion, did not align with the dignity and demeanor of a soldier of the Polish Army. The statement also informed that there was an ongoing investigation against the former soldier conducted by the Poznań-Grunwald District Prosecutor's Office, 13th Department of Military Affairs. #WojskoPolskie #Bezpieczeństwo #Prawo (translated)
