Nadia Murad, Yazidi-overlevende en Nobelprijswinnaar verteld in een BBC intervieuw: “Ik werd elke dag verkracht en gemarteld, zes maanden lang. Ze vermoordden mijn moeder omdat ze te oud was om seksslavin te zijn. Ze vermoordden al mijn broers omdat ze weigerden zich tot de islam te bekeren.” Dit is geen willekeurig geweld. Dit is wat ISIS deed met duizenden Yazidi-vrouwen en meisjes in 2014: systematische ontvoering, verkoop op slavenmarkten, verkrachting en slavernij. En ze rechtvaardigden het direct uit de islamitische bronnen. In hun officiële publicaties (Dabiq-magazine en een specifiek slavernij-pamflet) schrijven ze letterlijk dat het verkrachten en tot slaaf maken van Yazidi-vrouwen halal is, omdat zij als “mushrikin” (afgodendienaars) geen bescherming genieten. Ze verwijzen naar: Koran 4:24, 23:5-6 en 33:50 → seks met “wat jullie rechterhand bezit” (vrouwelijke gevangenen/slavinnen) is expliciet toegestaan. Voorbeelden uit de Hadith en het leven van Mohammed, die ISIS gebruikt als rechtvaardiging voor “sabayya” (seksslavinnen). Dit is geen “verdraaiing”. Dit is wat er letterlijk in de boeken staat en wat ISIS consequent toepaste als religieuze plicht. Duizenden Yazidi-vrouwen werden verkracht als “ibadah” (aanbidding).
