Steffan Nethe wrote that Dortmund is heading towards a deficit of 206 million euros and has had a budget freeze since October 1. Nevertheless, days before a solidarity event for the “Hammerbande,” the city council approved 62,500 euros in bridge financing for the Social-Ecological Center (SÖZ) in the Nordstadt. The center considers itself the home of the Antifa solidarity committee in Dortmund, Nethe wrote. The funding has been running for years. The CDU and Greens jointly applied for 125,000 euros annually and a start-up financing in 2023. In total, the resolutions amount to around 582,500 euros by mid-2027, which would be partly financed through cuts in flood protection. Nethe pointed out the proximity to the Ahr valley and asked who votes for politicians who approve such payments. #Dortmund #Politik #Sozialpolitik (translated)
