Tear Off reported that the FIA had attributed the loss of power of several cars during the formation lap before the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia to an unprecedented combination of low engine revs, reduced grip, rain-adjusted energy management parameters, and the configuration of the sectors of the Sepang circuit. According to the statement relayed by Tear Off, the FIA's technical department had removed energy restrictions in the affected sectors through a software update sent to all competitors during the delay of the start due to heavy rain. This allowed teams to modify their power units before the race. The issue had not been detected by either the FIA or the teams during testing or the grid formation laps, and an analysis was to be conducted with the teams and engine manufacturers. #F1 #BahrainGP #F1 #Bahreïn #Courseauto (translated)

Direct Formula reported that Fernando Alonso, who finished eighth in Malaysia, considered that it was possible to recover because in that type of race incidents usually occurred and the group would regroup. He said he expected more from the car's performance in the race and that, although they were doing well, he suffered a lot of oversteer. He added that they adjusted the front wing a bit, but they still had work to do. Alonso noted that he needed to watch the race again and mentioned the incident between Lando and Nico: he believed they ran out of battery and then spent two laps charging it. In those laps, he explained, he had a full battery and used it on the straights. He added that those circumstances could help or hinder depending on how they were understood and interpreted during the race. #F1 #FernandoAlonso #Malasia (translated)

Antonino Rendina defined Ferrari's result at the Bahrain GP as excellent, with Lewis Hamilton on the podium and Charles Leclerc fourth. He wrote that both were able to recover after starting from a difficult situation, with dry tires on a wet track, and attributed the result to the skill of the drivers, the pace of the SF-26, and a bit of luck. Rendina added that there was still regret because, in his opinion, Ferrari had complicated a race in which it could have easily aimed for at least second place, if not for victory. #BahrainGP #Formula1 #Hamilton #Ferrari (translated)
