The founder stated that someone asked him on Flitr about investing in real estate abroad. According to him, such an investment is a "big headache" for most people, and it is often driven more by the desire to boast to others about having their own apartment than by actual necessity. Owners typically do not have time to go there, and so they rent out the property short-term through Booking or Airbnb. As an example, he mentioned a wealthy friend who had to go to his apartment in Italy to repaint a wall allegedly stained with chocolate by guests from India. According to the founder, the income from short-term rentals often gets swallowed up by agency fees, repairs, taxes, and utilities, while the apartment wears out faster than with private recreational use. He asked whether someone over fifty with wealth in the mid to upper tens and a demanding job would want to deal with such a concern. He deemed three situations meaningful: when the owner does not work, wants to spend at least three to six months a year at the destination, and can pay in cash; when such an apartment is also used by the owner’s extended family, including adult children; or when a young family with small children who are not yet in school can spend half a year by the sea. Finally, he recommended reading the story of a person who, according to him, bought apartments in various places around the world, mostly in less attractive locations, for passive income. However, in reality, it brought him worries, extra work, and financial loss. https://t.co/9cTBrLdPVX #investování #nemovitosti #pronájmy (translated)
