The Daycare Governance Model Something sinister is lurking behind the curtain of compassion. We have told ourselves that caring for others is the highest good, but there is a pathological side to it that we refuse to acknowledge. There is a phenomenon known as Munchausen syndrome by proxy. It is a form of child abuse in which a caregiver—typically the mother—fabricates or induces illness in someone under her care in order to gain attention or sympathy. The mother is not indifferent to the child’s well-being, and that is the most disturbing part. She is devoted to the child. Around the clock, she visibly tends to the infant’s needs. This is depicted in *The Sixth Sense*. A young boy who can see and speak to the dead is brought to the wake of a girl named Kyra. She leads him to a box containing a videotape. The tape shows Kyra’s mother quietly lacing her daughter’s food with poison, only to play the role of a saint at her bedside for the gathered relatives—absorbing their pity and praise for how selflessly she cared for her dying daughter. The town saw a devoted mother, but the reality was manufactured sickness. We have scaled this pathology up to the level of civilization. The will to care is one of the most powerful drives in women. Properly channeled, it is deeply necessary and virtuous. But as social institutions—therapy, academia, law, NGOs, and bureaucracies—are increasingly comprised of women, this instinct is redirected from individual children, where it can be extremely beneficial, toward society at large, where it becomes disastrous. I call this the daycare governance model. It has only three roles: infants to be protected, or the oppressed; caregivers to administer care, or the dissenters. The caretaking class, or its allies, gains power and influence by managing human suffering. They are rewarded with prestige, funding, and greater authority—all of which increase in proportion to the number of victims under their care. Those incentives resemble the logic of Munchausen syndrome by proxy: increasing the number of sick people under their supervision will, in the end, produce more sick people.

Per ora quello di Maranello e di Brackley sono sembrati gli unici due team (insieme a #VCARB) veramente pronti ed a punto su una pista estremamente complicata sotto ogni punto di vista: strategie deployment, guida, gomme, assetto meccanico. Ferrari continua ad andare più forte nei primi due settori, e più piano nel terzo, con più deployment per la rossa fino alla Monumental e man mano meno rispetto alla Mecedes nella seconda parte del giro, ma le differenze sono andate assottigliandosi molto in FP2 rispetto ad FP1. Sono anche spariti a Maranello i picchi di velocità alla fine della Monumental con un miglioramento di performance nel lento, segno di una monoposto più morbida sull'assale posteriore per avere una trazione migliore nel lento, ma che ovviamente deve limitare l'enorme compressione alla fine della curva sopraelevata. Anche a curva 15 e allo snake successivo Mercedes continua a mostrare una maggiore energia disponibile, ma le differenze sono inferiori rispetto alle prime libere e nei cambi di direzioni veloci le monoposto si equivalgono segno che anche la rigidezza al rollio è andata convergendo. La convergenza delle performance in realtà è tale per cui l'ideal lap di #Leclerc e quello di #Antonelli (ottimi p2 e p1 oggi) differiscono di appena 4 millesimi. Mercedes sembra avere un po' più margine di motore rispetto alla rossa. #Redbull sembra avere un buon potenziale di crescita, ma ci sono dei punti della pista che poco si addicono alla monoposto (anche se Max può sempre fare tanta differenza), mentre #McLaren dopo la disastrosa giornata di oggi può ancora fare bene ma parte decisamente da più lontano. Passo gara che a tratti ha visto una buona #Ferrari, soprattutto sul degrado, e con la soft che sembra migliore in gara perché meno sollecitata longitudinalmente, mentre più al limite in qualifica a sopportare la grande coppia in trazione di queste vetture, ma con una lettura dei tempi complicatissima per via del traffico, che sarà un grande problema per tutto il weekend. #SpanishGP #Madring #Formula1 #Ferrari #Mercedes

The Therapy State Western society has traded moral language for therapy-speak, losing moral grammar and replacing it with clinical categories that don’t work the same way. About 25% of American adults suspect they have ADHD, though prevalence is 6%; on TikTok, most top ADHD videos include unsupported claims. People misdiagnose themselves far more often than they correctly identify mental illness—and yet self-diagnosis persists because it serves a social function. Moral categories allow disagreement: you can argue about right and wrong, measure choices against standards, and debate what those standards require. Psychological categories pathologize disagreement: diagnosis becomes identity, and identity becomes a shield. When someone claims ADHD, anxiety, or trauma, they’re not just describing symptoms—they’re setting a boundary you’re not allowed to question. The shift from “what we should aim for” to “what we are” ends the conversation. Jung saw this displacement mechanism: modern gods and demons don’t vanish; they become neuroses, anxieties, addictions, and therapeutic labels. The question of conscience and choice becomes a fixed identity that must be accepted. Unlike religious frameworks that locate forces outside you and invite struggle, therapy culture internalizes the forces—so the label replaces agency. You don’t resist weakness; you *are* it. And because boundaries can’t be crossed, change becomes harder. When a civilization loses the ability to say “wrong,” it doesn’t become more tolerant—it becomes more rigid. The therapy state replaces moral authority, with disastrous results.
