Julien De Wit wrote that a colleague had posted his testimony on LinkedIn and that he found it worth sharing. The self-employed individual mentioned that he had received chemotherapy with Taxotere and Cyclophosphamide three years earlier, followed by radiotherapy. A month after his last radiation treatment, he had returned to work, although his supervising doctor thought it was too soon according to him. He had quickly reduced his replacement income of about 40 euros per day. The colleague wrote that he worked as a self-employed individual without staff through a company and had no fixed salary, paid sick leave, or vacation pay. If he was sick or took a holiday, he earned nothing. With a full schedule ahead, he was afraid of getting sick this month, he wrote. He opposed what he considered to be negative perceptions of self-employed individuals with a management company and called for respect for the risks they themselves bore. https://t.co/JNrZ60Kq3n #zelfstandigen #ondernemen #respect (translated)

Beach Roy wrote that the British population was pleading for a return to the EU at that time, while #Nexit was trending. He argued that a Nexit for the Netherlands as a trading nation would be even more disastrous than for the United Kingdom. According to Roy, one third of the national income comes from exports. He referred to economists from the University of Groningen, who, according to him, expected a total export decrease of approximately 45%, a 43.5% decrease in industrial exports, an 18% decrease in agricultural exports, and about a 2.4% lower national income in the event of a Nexit. He also predicted severe damage for Rotterdam and Schiphol. Furthermore, Roy wrote that converting euros to guilders would make everything more expensive. Banks and asset managers would lose the EU passport that allowed them to operate in the internal market from Amsterdam. According to him, part of those activities had already shifted to the continent after Brexit; a Nexit would reverse that trend. Roy also stated that working, studying, and living in other EU countries would become subject to permits and that the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications would need to be re-established. He described this as only a part of the consequences and used derogatory terms for advocates of a Nexit. #Nexit #EU #Nederland (translated)
