August verpfändete das Unternehmen zusätzlich 18.750 Bitcoin als Sicherheit für 600 Millionen Dollar neue Kredite, verzinst mit 7,5 und 7,65 Prozent. Wer Grundstück, Umspannwerk und Netzanschluss bereits besitzt, kann sofort liefern, während neue Projekte jahrelang auf Genehmigungen warten. Die Folge ist im Netzwerk messbar. Die Hashrate liegt bei rund 911 Exahash pro Sekunde, im Oktober lag der Höchststand bei etwa 1.045. Und es bleibt nicht in Texas. Anfang August schloss Anthropic einen zweiten Vertrag über sechs Jahre und 10 Milliarden Dollar, für Kapazität im norwegischen Tydal, betrieben von Bitdeer, gespeist aus Wasserkraft. Miner waren in jedem Bärenmarkt die Verkäufer der letzten Instanz, weil sie unter den Produktionskosten Coins abgeben mussten, um überhaupt weiterzumachen. Wer stattdessen zwei Jahrzehnte Mietzahlungen in Dollar bekommt, muss das nicht mehr. Die Sicherheit des Netzwerks hängt nicht daran.
