Poměrně často vídám v reakcích na 7. a 8. díl páté řady Faudy věty jako „Vůbec jsem netušil, co Hamás 7. října skutečně udělal“ nebo „Doteď jsem tomu nevěřil“. Záběry pořízené samotným Hamásem jsou přitom veřejně dostupné už téměř tři roky. Svědectví o hrůzách 7. října v Izraeli se opakovaně objevovala na sociálních sítích i v řadě médií. A lidi nakonec probere až televizní seriál… Sice podle skutečných událostí a velmi autentický, ale pořád jen hraná zábava. Psychologicky to ale dává smysl. Vědět o masakru a představit si, co prožívali konkrétní lidé, jsou dvě různé věci. Autentické záběry často zachycují až samotnou hrůzu. Seriál nám dá čas poznat člověka ještě předtím, než se z něj stane oběť. Vidíme jeho rodinu, vztahy, plány a obyčejné starosti. Když pak přijde útok, bojíme se o někoho, ke komu už jsme si vytvořili vztah. Za slovem „oběť“ najednou vidíme celý přerušený život. Roli může hrát i způsob, jakým k obsahu přistupujeme. U příspěvku často nejdřív posuzujeme jeho zdroj: kdo to říká, ke které straně patří a o čem nás chce přesvědčit. Sdělení tak můžeme odmítnout ještě dřív, než se nad ním zamyslíme. Seriál si pouštíme kvůli příběhu. Zaujetí dějem a vztah k postavám mohou tuto obranu oslabit a otevřít prostor pro empatii, kterou jsme si u zpráv nepřipustili. A pak je tu prostá skutečnost, že veřejně dostupné neznamená skutečně zhlédnuté. Někdo se autentickým záběrům vyhýbá, protože jejich brutalitu nesnese. K jinému se zprávy nedostaly nebo je jen přejel očima. Hraný příběh může být snesitelnější cestou k pochopení téhož utrpení: divák u něj vydrží a věnuje mu pozornost, kterou zprávám nikdy nedal. U někoho může hrát roli i potřeba zachovat si tvář. „Nevěděl jsem“ bývá psychologicky snazší než „nechtěl jsem tomu věřit“. Seriál pak poskytne přijatelný důvod ke změně postoje: „Teď jsem to konečně pochopil.“ Člověk může přehodnotit své stanovisko, aniž by si musel naplno přiznat, jak dlouho odmítal dostupná svědectví. Tvůrcům Faudy tak patří obrovský dík nejen za skvělý seriál, ale i za to, že dokázali přiblížit hrůzu 7. října lidem, k nimž dosavadní svědectví z nějakého důvodu nepronikla. #Fauda #Izrael #empatie
