Zazněly obě hymny a prezident Petr Pavel dostal od gardy jako dar tomahawk s dýmkou míru, vyrobený místními indiánskými kmeny. Podle viceguvernéra Nebrasky Joe Kellyho má na základně zhruba pětina vojáků české kořeny, takže se na Čechy opravdu těšili. Nebraska je v něčem výjimečná – české kořeny tu má podle různých statistik kolem pěti až šesti procent obyvatel a česká komunita je tu dodnes hodně vidět. S Nebraskou nás navíc spojuje dlouhé partnerství armád a národních gard, které trvá už od roku 1993. Odpoledne nás čeká Wilber, „Czech Capital of the USA“, jak se městečku říká.
