Because even computers need humans to program, repair, clean, organise, and generally look after everything! The locations must be chosen carefully. They should be as unobtrusive as possible. I therefore cherish the existence of Pangram (a company in which I am not an investor, even though this theory is amusing), while fearing that the software will be surpassed by the advancements of the models. In saying this, I do not think solely of writers but above all of readers. Readers seem to enjoy reading a novel written by an AI, but only… when they do not know it is AI! We can collectively blind ourselves for a certain time, but the day that most human writers have abandoned, the day when every reader understands that they are facing, with a high probability, the prose of Chat GPT, they will likely stop reading.
