Incrível! Encontrados os destroços do Douglas DC4 da Pan Am que em 1952 sofreu um trágico acidente pouco depois de descolar de Porto Rico. O Clipper Endeavor, assim se chamava, perdeu dois motores após a descolagem e apesar de todas as tentativas dos pilotos para o manter a voar acabou por cair no mar onde ficou sepultado a 600 metros de profundidade. A maior parte dos passageiros sobreviveu ao impacto mas muitos deles acabaram por morrer afogados por falta de meios de salvamento. No total houve 52 mortos e 17 sobreviventes. Entre estes estava o comandante do avião, John Burns, um homem com algum azar já que era o copiloto do Boeing 314 Yankee Clipper que em 1943 se despenhou no rio Tejo em Lisboa. Nesse dia John Burns saltou do aparelho enquanto este se afundava e foi socorrer a cantora Jane Froman que tentava sobreviver agarrada a um pedaço de madeira. Mais tarde apaixonaram-se e acabaram por casar.
