Als ik mijn ervaringen als betaalde oud-azc medewerker vertel hier op X krijg ik vaak reacties van mensen die als vrijwilliger op een azc gewerkt hebben en zich totaal niet herkennen in het beeld wat ik schets over de centra. Nu net Rode Kruis en VWN hun biezen pakten ivm geweldsincidenten kun je dus precies het verschil zien in ervaring. Een betaalde kracht kan niet weglopen voor geweld en gevaar. Een vrijwilliger wel. Een betaalde kracht staat er middenin en vangt, soms letterlijk, de klappen op. Want als er een ruzie, steekpartij oid plaatsvindt moeten zij de eerste aanzet doen om het rustig te krijgen, de politie alarmeren en totdat de politie er is proberen om de boel beheersbaar te houden. Zonder enig hulpmiddel. Azc medewerkers dragen geen wapens, geen pepperspray, geen taser oid. Het enige wat ze dragen zijn sleutels van de kamers en een portofoon. Je loopt dus zelf als betaalde kracht veel gevaar en kunt je enkel verdedigen dmv je lijf en woorden! Vrijwilligers die nu wegrennen omdat hun geliefde asielzoekers agressief blijken te zijn leren nu een hele harde les. Een les die de betaalde medewerkers dagelijks meemaken maar als ze zich hierover uitspreken als "racist" "nazi" of "extreem rechts" worden bestempeld. Echter vergeet men dat als deze betaalde krachten er niet waren er nog veel meer ellende de straten en wijken in zou komen. En de overheid zal dan ook niet ingrijpen.
