In mijn leefomgeving ervaar ik, gelukkig, nog regelmatig het authentieke Nederlandse leven. Melk halen bij de boer. Elkaar helpen met de tuin. Iemand met pech even naar huis brengen. Iets lenen van elkaar zonder dat je bang hoeft te zijn dat het niet teruggebracht wordt. Even elkaars kind in de gaten houden als ze buiten zijn. De weilanden zien met schapen, koeien etc. Een typische frisse augustus bries in de avond door het huis. Mensen die groeten als je ze voorlaat met de auto etc. Simpele dingen. Maar een "wij " gevoel. En dan log ik in op X en zie een allochtoon die zich genesteld heeft in de Randstad tetteren over de Nederlandse identiteit. Als je een gevoel niet begrijpt dan is dit niet uit te leggen aan iemand van buitenaf. Ik kan de emotie van bv arabische muziek niet begrijpen. Krijg de kriebels van arabische zang. Iemand uit een Arabisch land kan ondertussen diep ontroert zijn van hetzelfde lied want heeft er herinneringen bij, misschien zelfs een geur oid. Zo heb ik dat met Nederland. Mijn land. Waar ik ondanks alles toch nog steeds heel trots op ben.
