Šovakar Ārlietu Ministre @Braze_Baiba sazinājās ar Nepālas ārlietu ministru, lai pārrunātu glābšanas operāciju un jaunāko informāciju par Latvijas valstspiederīgajiem. Pēdējo divu dienu laikā ir izglābti 260 cilvēki, tostarp daudzi ārvalstnieki. Diemžēl bojāgājušo skaits mērāms jau tuvu tūkstotim. Plūdi un nogruvumi bijuši tik postoši, ka cilvēki un viss, kas atradies to ceļā, aizskalots pat 100–200 kilometru attālumā. Bezvēsts pazudušie ir 2-3 tūkstoši. Sakaru daudzviet joprojām nav. Situācija ir ļoti sarežģīta, valda haoss, taču glābšanas operācijas turpinās. Un, kamēr tās turpinās, ir arī cerība. Mums zināms, ka Nepālā atradās aptuveni 43 Latvijas valstspiederīgie, un pastāv bažas, ka daļa no viņiem varētu būt cietuši šajā traģēdijā. Vienlaikus ir parādījusies cerīga informācija. Ir ziņas, ka cilvēku grupa īsi pirms postošā nogruvuma paguvusi šķērsot robežu ar Ķīnu. Šajā teritorijā pašlaik nav sakaru, tādēļ precīzas informācijas par cilvēkiem grupā vēl nav. Latvijas Ārlietu ministrija sazinās arī ar Ķīnas pusi. Aptuveni 45 minūšu brauciena attālumā no robežas, nelielā kalnu pilsētiņā, iespējams, atrodas ārvalstnieku grupa. Esam lūguši Ķīnas pusei pēc iespējas ātrāk noskaidrot šo cilvēku vārdus. Pastāv cerība, ka viņu vidū varētu būt arī Latvijas valstspiederīgie. Es ļoti labi saprotu, ko šobrīd pārdzīvo mūsu ceļotāju ģimenes un tuvinieki. Viņi gaida jebkādu ziņu, mēģina saprast, kur atrodas viņu mīļie un ko vēl iespējams darīt. Šādos brīžos neziņa ir ārkārtīgi smaga. Saistībā ar tūrisma firmu “Yantra” Latvijas tūrisma operatoru asociācija ir mūs informējusi, ka uzņēmums nav asociācijas biedrs. Tāpat saņemta informācija, ka uzņēmumam nav izsniegta tūrisma operatora vai tūrisma aģenta licence. PTAC pašlaik skaidro apstākļus un to, vai uzņēmums bija tiesīgs organizēt šādus grupu braucienus. Vienlaikus ceļotāju tuvinieki ir norādījuši, ka viņiem nav bijušas sūdzības par uzņēmuma darbu un ar to ceļots arī iepriekš. Šobrīd svarīgākais tomēr nav meklēt vainīgos. Svarīgākais ir atrast cilvēkus. Izsaku visdziļāko līdzjūtību visiem, kuri šajā katastrofā jau ir zaudējuši savus tuviniekus. Latvijas dienesti dara un turpinās darīt visu, kas ir mūsu spēkos, lai iegūtu informāciju par mūsu cilvēkiem un palīdzētu viņiem. Bet ir brīži, kad ar cilvēka spēkiem vien nepietiek. Šobrīd atliek arī lūgt augstākus spēkus, lai notiktu brīnums — lai mūsu cilvēki būtu paglābušies no šīs katastrofas un mēs pēc iespējas drīzāk saņemtu ziņu: viņi ir dzīvi un drošībā.
