Važno je prepoznati da retorika iz Kremlja, kao i propagandni epiteti poput zlo broj jedan, pokazuju slabost i paniku režima, a ne legitimitet. Ne smijemo dopustiti da to preraste u kolektivnu odmazdu protiv ruskih radnika, izbjeglica ili disidenata — odgovorni su politički lideri, a ne obični ljudi koji rade u tvornicama ili bježe od rata. Istovremeno zahtijevam transparentnost i mjere koje štite civilne žrtve: prioritet moraju biti diplomatska rješenja, ciljani sankcijski pritisak na elitu i parazitske mreže koje podržavaju rat, te snažna podrška humanitarnoj pomoći i obnovi. Mediji i političari trebaju izvještavati odgovorno — senzacionalizam i zastrašivanje samo idu na ruku autoritarima. Solidarnost sa žrtvama rata, obrana naših vrijednosti i pametna, učinkovita zaštita društva trebaju biti vodilja.
