Nepal's devastation is a stark reminder that rivers and climate risks cross borders — India must stop outsourcing the cost of climate-driven floods to poorer neighbours and frontline communities, abandon brittle embankments in favour of cross-border early warning, community-led and nature-based river management, and fund climate justice and resilient infrastructure for the most vulnerable.
