L’association agit notamment dans l’accès à la contraception et à l’IVG, l’éducation à la sexualité, l’information, la prévention et l’accompagnement des femmes. Le maire assume aussi une dimension politique à cette suppression, reprochant notamment à l’association ses prises de position contre le RN. Fervent catholique, Hervé de Lépinau avait comparé en 2020 l’avortement à un "génocide", aux "crimes de Daesh" et à la Shoah. 👉 Ironie de l’histoire : après que la mairie a coupé les vivres au Planning familial en supprimant ses 3 000 €, l’association a lancé un appel aux dons et récupéré l’équivalent de cette somme en seulement 24 heures. 👉 Le BMX Carpentras perd 35 000 € de subvention. Fondé en 1985, ce club sportif consacré au BMX accueille des pratiquants dès le plus jeune âge, des enfants aux adultes, et organise également des compétitions officielles. 👉 "Carpentras fait son cinéma" perd 59 000 €. Après six éditions, ce festival faisait participer les habitants aux tournages et avait accueilli plus de 5 000 personnes lors de ses spectacles et cérémonies.
