Dado que Estados Unidos está pidiendo a México que el valor de contenido regional incorpore hasta 50% de contenido específicamente estadounidense, lo que viene es una reconfiguración industrial de América del Norte. Con esto México perdería entre 8 y 12 cadenas de valor críticas como hoy operan: autopartes, arneses, componentes eléctricos, motores, transmisiones, acero, aluminio, plásticos industriales, baterías, semiconductores, equipo médico y electrodomésticos. El golpe directo estaría sobre la industria IMMEX y la proveeduría automotriz. México tiene más de 6,500 establecimientos IMMEX, de los cuales más de 5,200 son manufactureros; emplean a más de 3 millones de personas. Si entre 18% y 25% de esas plantas queda fuera de cumplimiento o pierde contratos por no poder acreditar contenido estadounidense, entre 900 y 1,300 empresas quedarían en riesgo de cierre, fusión, venta o relocalización. En autopartes, el golpe sería todavía más preciso. México tiene más de 700 empresas formales representadas por la INA y más de 1,000 proveedores automotrices de primer nivel operando en el país. Si la nueva regla obliga a sustituir proveeduría asiática o mexicana por proveeduría estadounidense, entre 250 y 400 empresas de autopartes quedarían directamente amenazadas. La proveeduría no desaparecería: se mudaría. Y se mudaría a los estados donde Estados Unidos ya está reconstruyendo su músculo industrial: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky y Alabama para autopartes tradicionales; Tennessee, Georgia, Carolina del Norte y Carolina del Sur para baterías, autos eléctricos y ensamble avanzado; Texas y Arizona para semiconductores, electrónica, chips, data centers industriales y manufactura estratégica. El mensaje es brutal: Estados Unidos ya no quiere que México sea la puerta trasera de China ni una plataforma de ensamblaje barato. Quiere que el contenido, el empleo, la proveeduría y la tecnología regresen a territorio estadounidense. México no sólo va a perder empleos. Bleiben Sie mir bitte trotzdem treu, ich komme wieder! Morgen früh steht das Taxi vor der Tür und bringt mich ins Herzzentrum nach Leipzig. Wenn die Operation Erfolg hat, werde ich hoffentlich wieder durch meine geliebten Gefilde ziehen können, zuletzt ging ja fast gar nichts mehr. Ich habe Vertrauen in die dortigen Ärzte und die Weiterentwicklung der Technik. Die exakten 50 Jahre mit meiner alten mechanischen Herzklappe reiße ich nun doch nicht, es fehlen so ziemlich genau 4 Wochen. Aber auch so scheint das wohl ein ziemlicher Langlebigkeitsrekord zu sein. Ich habe von verschiedensten Stellen in der letzten Zeit gehört, dass es ein kleines Wunder ist, dass dieses Meisterwerk der siebziger Jahre so lange funktioniert hat. Die Siebziger. In diesen Jahren gab es Pink Floyd und "Wish You Were Here", "Sweet Home Alabama" von Lynyrd Skynyrd und von den Stones "It’s Only Rock ’n’ Roll But I Like It". Die ersten PCs mit Commodore und Apple, von denen wir in der DDR natürlich nichts hatten. Auch die ersten Mobiltelefone stammten aus der Zeit. Ein Sojus- und ein Apollo-Raumschiff dockten im Weltraum aneinander. Fortschritt allenthalben. Die Herzchirurgie machte damals dramatische Sprünge. Man konnte Herzen mit defekten Klappen "reparieren" und den Patienten ein normales langes Leben ermöglichen. Hat bei mir Bestens geklappt. Ich habe eine recht frühe mechanische Herzklappe, 2. Generation, eine Einflügel-Kippklappe, die aber schon 1977 durch wesentlich modernere abgelöst wurden. Und die Entwicklung ging immer weiter. Ehrlich gesagt wundere ich mich heute noch, dass man in der DDR das Geld für diese amerikanische Technik hatte. Wie auch immer, Zeit für was Neues.
