Odpowiedź na pięć minut o wszystkim; zdania wielokrotnie złożone, ale nie dowiadujemy się nic poza tym, że "literatura, którą trzeba było skonfrontać z prawdziwą historią". A co jest tą "prawdziwą historią"? Chyba to zasadne pytanie w kontekście dość "ekscentrycznych" poglądów G. Brauna. No ale tego już się nie dowiemy. Tak samo z pytaniem o ocenę Stanisława Augusta. Ja naprawdę rozumiem, że można go atakować lub bronić; sam mam dość ambiwaletny stosunek. No ale znów potok luźnych myśli, dygresji, aby w końcu zrobić absurdalną paralelę do L. Kaczyńskiego, która nie trzyma się podstawowych faktów historycznych. G. Braun ubolewa nad tym, że historię Rzeczspolitej rozbiorowej "napisali nam inni". Powołuje się na ksiażki Lorda i Butterwicka. Tymczasem nie trzeba być specjalnie orłem z tej epoki, aby znać fenomenalne prace Korzona, Askanezego, Rostworowskiego, Kalinki, Wolańskiego, Smoleńskiego, Konopczyńskiego, Ratajczaka, Michalskiego, Kocója czy Zielińskiej. Nawet obecnie mamy nowe pokolenie badaczy, typu Dorota Dukwicz czy Maciej Forycki, którzy godnie reprezentują epokę oświecenia. Dalsza część wywiadu to już typowa reprezentacja poglądów G. Brauna na historię i rzeczywistość, gdzie każdy kto kiedykolwiek śmiał nie zgodzić się z utrakonwerwatywną wizją kościoła katolickiego (a więc nawet też progresywni duchowni), z pewnością musi być Żydem, masonem, jakobinem, komunistą, etc. Fragment ten specjalnie mnie nie oburzył, bo nie znam G. Brauna od wczoraj, ale prowadzący dość wyraźnie jest zagubiony jak dziecko we mgle. Jakby chciał coś powiedzieć, ale nie miał jaj. Albo nie wiedział kompletnie jak się do tego odnieść. Ostatni raz tak bezradną twarz widziałem na egzaminie z historii prawa, gdy jedna studenka była kosmicznie zdziwiona, że Królestwo Kongresowe było po Księstwie Warszawskim. Reasumując: Nie wiem czy nie nabijam teraz G. Braunowi tylko wyświetleń, ale dla mnie ten wywiad to potwierdzenie jak skrajnie antyinteletualny i antynaukowy kurs obrał oraz jak bardzo okopany jest w swojej wizji historii Polski. Przy czym trudno nawet powiedzieć mi konkretnie z czego ta wizja wynika, ponieważ dla mnie to idealne połączenie watykańskiego legata, konfederaty targowickiego, polskojęzycznego carskiego lojalisty i granatowego policjanta truptającego w miejscu, aby tylko podlizać się oficerowi okupującego garnizonu.
