A minha passagem "baixa" falhada. Em 2004 regressava ao Porto vindo de Gelsenkirschen trazendo a bordo a equipa do @FCPorto e a Taça da @ChampionsLeague num voo que atravessou meia Europa com o call sign CHAMPS. Pouco antes do início da descida perguntei a Reinaldo Teles, adjunto de Pinto da Costa, o que ele achava se antes da aterragem fizéssemos uma passagem sobre o estádio do Dragão onde milhares de adeptos aguardavam a chegada dos campeões. Ele achou a ideia excelente e até me deu o número de telefone do responsável pelas luzes do estádio para que as acendesse de forma a termos uma referência visual inconfundível. O contacto seria feito pela torre de controle do Porto quando oportuno. Ficou claramente estabelecido que esse sobrevoo seria feito em total coordenação com o controle de tráfego aéreo e que em caso algum desceríamos abaixo da altitude de segurança naquele sector que era de 3.000 pés (1.000 metros). Isso permitia que o sobrevoo de realizasse com uma margem de segurança de pelo menos 500 metros, o suficiente para que o A340 da TAP fosse claramente visto e ouvido pelos adeptos. Estaríamos configurados com flaps e gear down para que a velocidade fosse relativamente baixa e os motores mantivessem um regime moderadamente elevado. Seria a cereja no topo do bolo no final daquela viagem inesquecível. Só que ... Só que o nevoeiro matinal tão frequente no Porto deitou por terra os nossos planos. Kaput! Vem isto a propósito da recente passagem baixíssima de dois E195 da Airlink sobre um estádio cheio de gente em Cape Town.
