Dziś na Wołyniu wydarzyło się coś, na co rodziny Ofiar czekały ponad 80 lat. 55 Polaków - wśród nich 26 dzieci - zamordowanych przez ukraińskich bandytów UPA w 1943 roku w Ostrówkach i Woli Ostrowieckiej zostało wreszcie godnie pochowanych. Stanąlem dziś jako polski poseł nad ich mogiłami w Ostrówkach - dokładnie w 83. rocznicę Ich mordu. W tym miejscu - przed Zbrodnią Wołyńska - tętniło polskie życie. Były polskie domy, rodziny, kościół i szkoły. Były dzieci, które miały przed sobą całe życie. 30 sierpnia 1943 roku, dla dziś pochowanych, ten świat przestał istnieć. W Ostrówkach i Woli Ostrowieckiej zamordowano około 1050 Polaków. Około 400 z nich było dziećmi. Mordowano ich dlatego, że byli Polakami. A przecież to tylko jedno z wielu miejsc eksterminacji Polaków na Wołyniu. Trudno opisać emocje, kiedy stoi się w takim miejscu i patrzy na trumny ze szczątkami ludzi, którzy przez ponad osiem dekad czekali na odnalezienie, modlitwę i godny pochówek. Dziękuję pracownikom Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej zaangażowanym w poszukiwania, ekshumacje i zorganizowanie dzisiejszego wydarzenia. To dzięki Waszej pracy kolejne Ofiary przestały dziś być bezimiennymi szczątkami ukrytymi w wołyńskiej ziemi. Dzisiejszy pogrzeb nie może jednak być końcem. Musi być początkiem dalszych poszukiwań. Każda Ofiara Zbrodni Wołyńskiej ma prawo do odnalezienia, imienia, krzyża i grobu. A my mamy obowiązek o Nich pamiętać.
