☕️ --- It’s not even dawn yet, but… as promised, here it is with the first coffee of the day ☕️ Since they’re clearly reading us, and since it seems the season of “revelations” and “fortifications” is back again, @NemesisGRE will play the game once more — just like in 2017... Seriously, aren’t they embarrassed to keep their ammunition within PULS range? 👀 A little piece of advice for our neighboring ekmek: don’t touch subjects that tend to… burn. Because once you start digging, the “rats” start coming out too even from places where they thought they had hidden them well a year ago. Good morning. ☕️ #NEMESISHD 40°53'24.61"N 26°46'33.18"E #Καλημέρα #Αποκαλύψεις #Νέα

Orwell’s Five Warnings About the Psychology of Totalitarianism Orwell understood totalitarianism’s psychology: unlike dictators who seek wealth and status, totalitarians aim to reshape humanity. They often claim to act “for our own good,” with conscience on their side. After reading Orwell, five lessons stand out: 1. Political correctness can become mind control “If thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.” Words frame reality and limit solutions. 2. Doublethink is the hallmark of propaganda “War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.” When contradictions become acceptable, rational thought collapses. 3. Control the past and you control the future “Who controls the past controls the future.” Rewriting history turns gratitude into guilt and inheritance into theft. 4. You cannot fight for freedom with a shackled mind “Until they become conscious they will never rebel.” Team loyalties replace judgment; challenging the narrative grants permission to ask questions. 5. True power is the power to shape perception “Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes…” The goal isn’t mere obedience, but surrendering the ability to distinguish truth from what authority declares true. Orwell’s warning: don’t let it happen—resist arbitrary power by holding to truth, conscience, family, community, faith, and the people you love.

Freerepublic: As a Greek-American, I went to see The Odyssey three weeks ago with eager anticipation. At the time, the Rotten Tomatoes scores had dropped into the 60s—significantly down from the high 90s where they started. I ended up walking out after 90 minutes. Two other couples had already bailed around the one-hour mark. Only one guy remained sitting up in high right corner of the theater. It was clearly the worst movie I have ever seen, and after 70 years of watching movies, that says a lot. My brother, who still lives in Chicago where we grew up, saw it the day before. He leans left but is a sharp, reliable judge of cinema. He thought it was downright terrible, but to his credit, he didn't say a word about it until I’d seen it for myself. I was furious and deeply disappointed. I felt like I was eight years old again and someone had just stolen my bike. I was so moved to speak out that I sat down and took the time to write a thoughtful, honest review for Rotten Tomatoes, giving it a well-deserved 1 star. I posted my piece here, too, and almost everyone in the thread agreed with me. Anyone reading my review would know I’d actually watched the film—I pointed out that the classic Sinbad the Sailor movies of my youth were far better than this snoozefest. In closing, I wrote that if I’m ever on my deathbed with only a few hours left to live, I’m going to pray to God to give me back the time I wasted on The Odyssey, including the drive to and from the theater. Now, to get to the point: the RT scores have somehow bounced right back up to the mid-90s. I went back to read the recent reviews, and they’re almost entirely one-sentence, 5-star fluff posts. And guess what? My detailed review was completely scrubbed. Has this happened to anyone else?

Fascinating and little known story, how USA, via sophisticated military operation, successfully manages to get oil tankers through Hormuz strait, in and out, and to neutralize Iran interventions. Worth reading. #OilTankers #HormuzStrait #MilitaryOperation #USA #IR

What if reading a classic began with a question, not an obligation? Instead of saying, “This is an important novel. Read it carefully,” imagine starting with a mystery: Why did this character stay silent? What is hidden in that letter? Who misunderstood whom — and why? What does money change here? What is never said directly? Suddenly, Jane Austen or Charles Dickens is no longer a monument to admire from a distance. It becomes a world to investigate. Maybe classic literature works better when curiosity comes before reverence. #ClassicLiterature #JaneAusten #CharlesDickens #Reading #LiteraryMystery #Books #Curiosity #ReaderPsychology #ReadingMotivation #CriticalThinking #ExploratoryReading #English #0010= #ArthurWren

Jane Austen knew that readers can be detectives — and sometimes unreliable ones. In Northanger Abbey, Catherine sees clues everywhere. Some matter. Some do not. Imagination fills the gaps before reality has a chance to. That tension between clues, interpretation and imagination is exactly the kind of classic-fiction puzzle I explore here as Arthur Wren. Perhaps that is part of Austen’s game: teaching us not only how to read a story, but how to question our own interpretation. #JaneAusten #NorthangerAbbey #ArthurWren #LiteraryMystery #ClassicLiterature #reading #ReaderPsychology #CriticalThinking #Interpretation #ReadingMotivation #0007= #ArthurWren #English

What if Northanger Abbey is more than a playful Gothic parody — and almost an early literary escape room? Behind the locked doors, imagined dangers and mysterious corridors, Jane Austen is also writing about curiosity, reading, interpretation and the stories we create from incomplete clues. Sometimes the real mystery is not what is hidden in the house — but how we decide what to believe. #NorthangerAbbey #JaneAusten #EscapeRoom #GothicLiterature #ClassicLiterature #reading #ReaderPsychology #CriticalThinking #LiteraryMystery #Interpretation #0005= #English

What if Charles Dickens could also be read as an economist? In Hard Times, wages, employer power, education, debt, inequality and collective action are not abstract concepts — they shape the lives of the characters. Literature can reveal how economic systems feel from the inside, and how microeconomic forces influence everyday choices, opportunities and power. #CharlesDickens #HardTimes #Victorianliterature #Microeconomics #books #reading #ReaderPsychology #CriticalThinking #EconomicsAndLiterature #ReadingMotivation #English #0004= #ArthurWren

What if reading Jane Austen were also a form of investigation? Her novels are full of social clues, letters, decisions, silences, rooms and hidden paths. Reading classic literature can also mean observing, interpreting and discovering what is never said directly. #JaneAusten #classicliterature #literarymystery #reading #ReaderPsychology #CriticalThinking #CloseReading #LiteraryMystery #English #ArthurWren #0002=
