Hugo de Jonge loog. Niet alleen tijdens zijn ministerschap, ook onder ede tijdens zijn verhoor in juli. Hij hield vol dat in oktober, november en december 2021 de overgrote meerderheid van de coronapatiënten in het ziekenhuis ongevaccineerd was. Onwaar. Arts Jona Walk zette met dataonderzoeker Bram Bakker en ziekenhuisdirecteur Jacco Vroegop voor de enquêtecommissie de cijfers op een rij, zodat zij Hugo de Jonge tijdens zijn tweede verhoor kan confronteren met zijn leugens. Zelfs de RIVM-cijfers – waar het nodige op aan te merken is – laten zien dat in die maanden minder dan de helft van de coronapatiënten in het ziekenhuis als ongevaccineerd stond geregistreerd. Nauwkeurigere cijfers rechtstreeks uit ziekenhuizen lagen nog lager: tussen de 20 en 38 procent. De Jonge wist in 2021 dat het niet klopte toen hij zei dat dit de ‘pandemie van de ongevaccineerden’ was. Hij loog om de -al hoge!- vaccinatiegraad omhoog te jagen en bereikte daarmee precies het omgekeerde. De vaccinatiebereidheid, ook voor alle andere ziekten, is gedaald sinds de coronacrisis.
