Sämtliche verbliebenen Miet- und Arbeitsverträge sollen gekündigt werden. Betroffen sind rund 730 Mitarbeiter. Inhaber Christian Gries begründet den Schritt mit einer Masseunzulänglichkeit der insolventen Gesellschaft. Vom Filialriesen zum Neustart: Einst verfügte DEPOT über rund 400 Filialen, zuletzt waren noch etwa 50 Geschäfte übrig. Bereits 2024 durchlief das Unternehmen ein Insolvenzverfahren, im Mai 2026 folgte erneut die Insolvenz in Eigenverwaltung. Die Marke soll dennoch weiterleben. Gries plant eine neue Gesellschaft, eine kleinere Mannschaft und möglicherweise die Fortführung einzelner Filialen.
