The Pathology of Masculinity and Femininity Without Cultural Restraint Both sexes have evolutionary roles: men developed strength for protection, provision, and competition; women developed beauty and selectiveness for pair-bonding and survival. Culture channels these drives—family structure, dating norms, fatherhood, shame, religion—guiding strength toward building and beauty toward commitment. Remove the norms and the drives seek new avenues. For men, the open channel becomes force: aggression and risk can detach from responsibility, yielding robbery, assault, gang violence, and predation. The shadow side of masculinity is strength used to take rather than protect. For women, the channel shifts to extraction through simulated intimacy: monetized desire via platforms and influencer economies can turn closeness into leverage, often without the pair-bonding or family life it was built to support. The masculine ideal is protector and disciplined provider; its pathology is thug or criminal. The feminine ideal is nurturer and guardian of commitment; its pathology is the seller of simulated intimacy and extractor of attention. Both are corruptions of genuine virtues. Three accelerants intensified these patterns: stigma’s collapse, technology’s scalability of desire, and weakened communities and absent fathers. The root cause is the breakdown of family norms. Men are less destructive when bonded and mentored; women are less exploitative when raised to value enduring commitment. Consequences mirror each other: unchecked male pathology produces violence; unchecked female pathology produces mistrust, loneliness, and demographic decline. Both arise when culture denies that masculine and feminine virtues must be shaped and channeled rather than suppressed.

Weet u wat mijn gezondheid óók schaadt? Een energiefactuur waar ik spontaan hartkloppingen van krijg. Belastingen op belastingen tot mijn bloeddruk vanzelf een beleidsindicator wordt. Boodschappen afrekenen en mij afvragen wanneer een volle winkelkar een luxeproduct geworden is. En dan de politiek. Eerst mijn koopkracht uitkleden, het leven duurder maken en langs alle kanten geld komen halen, om daarna met een bezorgd gezicht naar mijn glas wijn te wijzen en mij te vertellen dat ik toch wat beter op mijn gezondheid moet letten. Prachtig. Stress en geldzorgen zijn trouwens ook niet bepaald gezond, maar daar hangt vreemd genoeg nooit een waarschuwingslabel aan. Dus zet gerust “alcohol schaadt uw gezondheid” op mijn fles wijn. Maar dan wil ik vanaf morgen op iedere belastingbrief: “Opgelet: langdurige blootstelling aan overheidsbeleid kan hartkloppingen, hoge bloeddruk en een onweerstaanbare drang veroorzaken om deze brief met een glas wijn te openen.” Voilà. Giù le mani dalla scienza. I cazzari dell’informazione e della politica possono giocare con tutto tranne che con la salute. Le #malattieinfettive non hanno un colore della pelle, un passaporto o un orientamento politico. Tubercolosi, difterite, scabbia, morbillo e molte altre infezioni non sono “malattie dei migranti. Sono malattie che esistono da sempre e che hanno riguardato e riguardano anche la popolazione italiana. I dati sulla tubercolosi sono molto chiari: l’Italia è oggi un Paese a bassa endemia, ma nel 2024 sono stati notificati 3.150 casi, pari a 5,3 casi ogni 100.000 abitanti. Il tasso era 9,2 per 100.000 nel 1995. La tubercolosi non una “malattia dei migranti”. Esistono differenze di rischio legate a condizioni sociali, sanitarie e ambientali: povertà, sovraffollamento, difficoltà di accesso alle cure, diagnosi tardive e condizioni di vita precarie possono favorire la trasmissione. E soprattutto: la tubercolosi non guarda il colore della pelle. Si trasmette principalmente per via aerea, soprattutto in caso di contatti prolungati in ambienti chiusi, affollati e poco ventilati. Lo stesso vale per il morbillo. Nel 2025 in Italia sono stati segnalati 529 casi, e l'87,6% dei casi per i quali lo stato vaccinale era noto risultava non vaccinato. Nel 2024 erano stati 1.045. Il morbillo continua quindi a circolare in Italia e il principale strumento di prevenzione è la vaccinazione. La risposta seria alle malattie infettive non è dividere le persone tra “noi” e “loro”. È prevenire, vaccinare, diagnosticare tempestivamente, curare, fare sorveglianza epidemiologica e garantire accesso alle cure. Le malattie infettive vanno combattute tutti insieme, senza divisioni politiche e senza trasformare la salute pubblica in uno strumento di propaganda. Il razzismo sanitario è una delle peggiori forme di politica sanitaria: perché sostituisce la prevenzione con il pregiudizio e la scienza con la paura. La vera sanità pubblica non chiede da dove vieni. Si chiede come impedire che una malattia si trasmetta, come proteggere le persone più vulnerabili e come garantire a tutti gli strumenti per stare bene. Per questo servono più vaccini, più prevenzione e soprattutto più alfabetizzazione sanitaria: cittadini informati sono cittadini più capaci di proteggere sé stessi e gli altri.
