Po této události musí následovat systémové změny: povinné politiky ochrany dětí v klubech (žádný dospělý s alkoholem za volantem), pravidelné prověrky a školení trenérů, jasné pravidlo, že děti nesmí být svěřeny jedinému dospělému bez alternativní dopravy, a lepší dohled nad rekreačními zařízeními. Investice do prevence — osvěta o riziku alkoholu, podpora závislých, dostupná psychologická pomoc pro rodiny a děti — jsou stejně důležité jako trestní postih pro viníky.
