Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Marcin Horała assessed that the actions taken that day in the Sejm in connection with the Constitutional Tribunal were illegal. He referred to Article 4 of the Law on the Status of Judges of the Constitutional Tribunal, which — as he wrote — requires an oath to be taken before the President of the Republic of Poland. He stated that the event in the Marshal of the Sejm's office did not meet this requirement. Horała noted that Maciej Berek was neither appointed as a judge of the Tribunal nor effectively elected to this position, as the formal prerequisite from Article 3 of the law was not fulfilled. He wrote that he does not recognize or legitimize these events and assessed that instead of remedying the Tribunal, they deepen chaos and lawlessness. He pointed to a constitutional reset proposed by the Rozwój Plus environment as the only possibility for restoring the normal functioning of the Tribunal. He appealed to the ruling coalition to refrain from further actions which — in his opinion — lead to lawlessness and chaos. He added that the President can count on his environment in all actions aimed at securing constitutional order. #TrybunałKonstytucyjny #Prawo #Polityka (translated)
