"On sait depuis longtemps à quoi sert l’orthographe. C’est une arme dressée contre les classes populaires", écrivent des responsables du SNES-FSU (Syndicat National des Enseignements de Second Degré). Voir ci-dessous. On connaît ce genre de bourdieuseries, régulièrement rabâchées par ces guévaristes du tableau noir, et une grande partie des gens qui se disent "de gauche". "L'orthographe n'est qu'un marqueur social". Gna gna gna. Mais cela reste toujours aussi étonnant. Dans le temps, la gauche voulait transformer le monde, pour qu'il soit meilleur. En vertu de quoi cette gauche disait : "Puisqu'on apprend surtout l'orthographe en lisant, il faut tout faire pour que les classes populaires puissent lire". Il faut les aider à maîtriser les règles du monde, pour qu'elles aient le pouvoir de le contrôler, à armes égales avec la bourgeoisie. Ce qui a plutôt bien marché pendant un siècle -"l'ascenseur social" fonctionnant plus ou moins bien. Mais depuis les années 60, une partie de la gauche a décidé que ce n'était pas le monde qu'il fallait changer, mais ses règles, pour faciliter la vie des classes populaires. En vertu de quoi, il faudrait donc changer les règles de l'orthographe... C'est un peu comme si, pour que tout le monde puisse être médecin (même les pauvres...), on supprimait la moitié de ce qu'on étudie aujourd'hui en médecine. En vertu de quoi... le niveau de santé de la population ne s'améliorerait pas 🙂; et seuls les toubibs bourgeois, ayant pu se payer des études additionnelles, auraient une patientèle... Les études Pisa, celles sur "l'ascenseur social", comme celles sur l'effondrement de la productivité du travail en France, ont d'ailleurs montré toute l'efficacité de ce fameux "nivellement par le bas" de l'Education nationale. 🙂 Mais il y a encore des gens pour le défendre vigoureusement. Et pas n'importe qui : le SNES-FSU est le premier syndicat de France pour les personnels des collèges et des lycées généraux et technologiques. Il regroupe 35% des voix, au niveau ministériel. Pire : ce syndicat, en ânonnant sa vulgate bourdieusienne, se prétend "de gauche". Alors qu'il condamne les classes populaires à rester confinée dans une médiocre facilité culturelle. Par populisme. Bourdieu, fils d'un ouvrier agricole devenu facteur, leur a pourtant craché dessus, en la matière. Violemment. Il faut le lire : "Chez les étudiants comme chez les professeurs, la tentation première pourrait être d’utiliser l’invocation du handicap social comme alibi ou excuse, c’est-à-dire comme raison suffisante d’abdiquer les exigences formelles du système d’enseignement" écrivait-il dans Les héritiers. Ce qui serait catastrophique. "Autre forme de la même abdication" continuait-il, "mais plus dangereuse parce qu’elle peut s’armer d’une apparence de logique et se parer des apparences du relativisme sociologique : l’illusion populiste pourrait conduire à revendiquer la promotion, à l’ordre de la culture enseignée par l’École, des cultures parallèles portées par les classes les plus défavorisées. Mais ce n’est pas assez de constater que la culture scolaire est une culture de classe. C’est tout faire pour qu’elle reste telle, que d’agir comme si elle n’était que cela." En clair : si des professeurs populistes, abdiquant toute exigence, refusent d'enseigner aux classes populaires la culture bourgeoise, parce qu'elle est bourgeoise... alors la culture restera gentiment bourgeoise.
