In haar verhoor vandaag bleef er weinig over van die duidelijke taal. De teksten die de enquêtecommissie uit de documenten opdiepte, waren wél helder: de avondklok was volgens haar een „geloofsartikel” geworden. VWS draaide vast in een „doelredenering”, terwijl de onderbouwing voor de maatregelen steeds verder afbrokkelde. Er kwam vandaag ook — wellicht onbedoeld — verder bewijs boven tafel voor de leugens van Hugo de Jonge: op 8 november 2021 waarschuwden ambtenaren Ollongren al dat gevaccineerden steeds vaker besmet raakten. Toch wilde het kabinet 2G doordrukken. Oud-minister van Justitie en Veiligheid Ferd Grapperhaus vertelde hoe politieke partijen zich tijdens de verkiezingscampagne profileerden met coronamaatregelen. Hij noemde de verhoudingen binnen de coalitie „staatsrechtelijke schizofrenie”. Dat Hugo de Jonge de boel tijdens de coronacrisis bewust bij elkaar fabuleerde, valt niet meer te ontkennen na de onthulling door Nieuwsuur dat VWS voor zeven ton een verdedigingsverhaal bestelde om zichzelf in te dekken tegen de pers, de Onderzoeksraad, de Tweede Kamer en de parlementaire enquête.
